It is impossible to read any newspaper's entertainment section this week and not read something about Lindsay Lohan. One needs only to remember the way the paparazzi were responsible for the death of Lady Diana to understand how the relationship between the media and celebrity culture is an unhealthy one. Moreover, the reader, even without being familiar at all with Lindsay Lohan, celebrates her staunch individuality by identifying with her, and transforming the self via a vicarious look into the future because the article is about her seeing a psychic.
