This occurrence is primarily due to the fact that one of the central tenets of feminism involves analyzing the exploitation of power in terms of its effect upon women. For the most part, a study about terrorism and intelligence relating to this fact has little to do with gender. However, "feminist research also embraces many of the tenets of postmodern critiques as a challenge to current society" (Author, date, p. 25-26). Those critiques, of course, revolve around relationships of power and the marginalization of people due to these relationships. In that respect, feminism possesses a finite amount of validity for its application to intelligence measures for counterterrorism protection efforts, in a similar capacity as postmodernism. However, the principle circumscription of the feminist perspective pertains to its innate preoccupation with gender. In many ways, the validity of employing critical theory to the study of intelligence, counterterrorism and protection is limited for many of the same reasons that feminism is. Although this particular theoretical perspective seeks to empower people, it does so in an attempt to "transcend the constraints placed on them by race, class, and gender" (Author, date, p. 27). Terrorism, of course, is not overtly concerned with neither of these factors. The one of these categories that may come closest to the scrutiny of terrorists is class -- but...

However, there are aspects of critical theory that actually do apply quite prudently to research related to terrorism, since some of the most vital motifs for this theoretical perspective include "the scientific study of social institutions and their transformations through interpreting the meanings of social life; the historical discrimination, alienation and social struggles" (Author, date, p. 27). In this regard, this perspective would be highly apt to analyze counterterrorist measures, since many of the motives for terrorists are socio-political in nature and counterterrorist actions and defensive measures must necessarily involve these impetuses as well.
In summary, postmodernism can shed a great degree of insight into research based on intelligence and protection form terrorists. Critical theory has some definite legitimacy when applied towards this area of research, although it also contains certain limitations that are predominantly indicative of feminism (and are based on categories of people that are not considered by terrorists).

Organization Analysis Analysing Organisation: Using relevant theoretical perspectives frameworks, critically analyse organisation choice. Analyzing organization is the process of assessing the organizations systems, functionality and capacity so as to increase the organizations performance, efficiency and overall output. While both gender and race are positionalities that are difficult to hide (not that one should need or want to, anyway), sexual orientation is not necessarily something that is known about a person, and its affects on the learning process can be very different. The very fact that sexual orientation can be hidden can create a situation where the learner closes off, hiding not only their sexuality but demurring away

Pedagogic Model for Teaching of Technology to Special Education Students Almost thirty years ago, the American federal government passed an act mandating the availability of a free and appropriate public education for all handicapped children. At each step, the goal was to make education more equitable and more accessible to

Brain Drain of Health Professionals in Zimbabwe Brain Drain is described in the work of Lowell and Findlay (2001) as something that can occur "...if emigration of tertiary educated persons for permanent or long-stays abroad reaches significant levels and is not offset by the 'feedback' effects of remittances, technology transfer, investments or trade. Brain drain reduces economic growth through unrecompensed investments in education and depletion of a source country's human capital

In this week's Discussion, I will briefly describe the structural/cultural social theory (traditional/classical) (Tangenberg, 2005, 197). In terms of contemporary theory, we will examine a theoretical integration of ecosystems and structuration (contemporary social theory) in order to examine the issue of human trafficking (Case, 2008, 213).
