¶ … power ? Sound ? Feel ? In Discussion, examine a situation involving demonstrations power influences power dynamics. You propose strategies enhancing individual's power base efficacious interactions. Power is one of the most important concepts in the contemporary society, especially considering that the present-day economic ideology dominating the world gradually influenced more and more individuals to direct their attention toward the material aspect of life. Authority has a strong influence over every-day life and generally shapes the way that the world as a whole functions. Social structures promote the idea of power and humanity practically reached a point where power is an integral part of the world.

This essay is going to address an instance involving three families with a one-year-old in which the husband needs to look after the material aspect while the wife needs to stay at home with the baby. By addressing the idea of power and by observing how it shapes relations and thinking in general in these three relationships, the essay is going to provide more information with regard to how power is distributed in particular circumstances.

Even with the fact that families are generally likely to be associated with concepts that have nothing to do with economic and political outside factors, the reality is that such factors do actually affect families and that individuals react to them in a series of ways. "However, the high rates of marital violence and dissolutions in the United States indicate that the family is less a haven from than a repository for sexual politics and economic struggles in the broader society.

The patriarchal normative is often enough to convince a woman that it is up to her to take care of her infant while her husband goes to work (Bonifacio, 2013, p. 134). Depending on the environment that a family is in, the division of power can involve more or less problems. Coercive power is the dominant concept in many families as the wife becomes accepting with regard to her position and considers that it would be pointless for her to try and do something in order to improve her condition.
Women have traditionally been encouraged to refrain from accumulating power, as they were taught that it would be wrong for them to assume power similar to how men do it. "As a result, some women view power as dominance vs. submission; associated with personal qualities, not accomplishment; and dependent on personal and physical attributes, not skill." (Chapter 13, p. 283) The fact that many women and men see power differently makes it difficult for the former to successfully advance and be recognized as equals. Society has seen remarkable progress in this field during recent years, but it seems very difficult to take people's attention away from the patriarchal system that they have been accustomed to supporting for most of their lives.

Reward power is also an important concept when considering the relationship between a husband and a wife as the former provides resources and the latter cares for the home. This is especially true when considering individuals in underprivileged areas, as women in some cultures have trouble being able to earn a living and they are left with little to no alternatives but to hope that their husbands are going to provide for them.

In a typical Western family power is divided in accordance…
