Community Health Education Obesity response

The aim of every community is to have a healthy society where each individual can carry on with their daily activities with ease and also contribute back to the welfare of the society. This is the target that I aim at in engaging in the community-based programs like the obesity reduction bid among adults. The number of obese adults within the U.S. was pegged at 34.9% between the years 2011 to 2012 and amazingly this was the same prevalence rates experienced between 2009 and 2010, meaning the prevalence rates did not change (CDC, 2013). This is a worrying trend since the adult risk of developing chronic illnesses and subsequent waste of their life in treatment is a real threat. There is need hence to have a law that prohibits the inclusion of the contents that contribute to obesity in any kind of food and also a need to have well labelled foods and drinks so that the clients can have an informed decision. Schools, supermarkets, grocery stores are all part of the outlasts that perpetuate the vice of distribution of unhealthy foods hence having a pressure group that will expose and shame brands at whatever level that subject the citizens to un healthy foods will be the first significant step before the law takes effect and this will be a step towards reduction of adult obesity.
