The reason why I chose the position of assistant principal in an elementary school is because I enjoy the position of leader. I feel I can keep a school running well by implementing sound policy and promoting adherence to regulation and law. I enjoy a challenging environment and feel my communication skills will be able to help students and teachers. I also feel that the role of assistant principal will prepare me for the role of principal or even school superintendent.

I am also a strong leader and have worked successfully in groups/teams, leading them towards positive outcomes and goal completion. Finally, I am an excellent communicator and can apply the data I gather towards objectives in a thoughtful and concise manner.

Although I do not have the Master's degree yet, I can explain I am on my way towards getting it. Furthermore, I in a couple of years will meet the teaching experience requirement and certification. a.
The resources allowed me to have a good grasp of what is expected of the selected position. For example, it is important to put some type of information at the beginning to let the employer see what I am capable of, regarding job responsibilities. Previously I believed it was important to list education and job experience first. However, employers want to see what the potential employee can do. The competencies act as a means of providing quick and succinct information in an easy to read format.
The resources also showed me the significance of layout. Without a sound layout, most of the information is ignored. For example, having large headings allows the text underneath it to stand out more. It is all about readability. If the person reading the resume loses interest or finds it difficult to differentiate between the various bits of text, it will most likely not be regarded as an effective resume.
b.
There are several things I learned about resume building. The first thing I learned was reducing the amount of text on a resume. Keeping resumes to one page can really help keep the interest of the employer reviewing the information. When resumes are more than one page, most of the information tends to not be reviewed and is left out of the data used for consideration for employment.
The other thing I learned was the need for separation of text to catch the eye of the reader. As explained earlier, formatting helps. Without the proper formatting, the resume will appear as an uninteresting, large block of text. Inserting certain key words and keeping emphasis on experience will help keep the resume interesting and satisfying.
