Paris, the capital of France, is one of the most visited places in the world when it comes to travel and tourism. The historic and marvelous places of the city make Paris one of the nicest places to visit in Europe. The wonders of Paris includes the Eiffel Tower, Musee du Louvre, Arc de Triomphe, Avenue des Champs Elysees, Notre Dame Cathedral, and many other historic breathtaking grandeurs of Paris.
Known as the City of Lights, Paris is located in France, at the heart of Europe's tourist destinations. Exploring Paris is almost similar to taking your self back in time in an inspiring, exquisite, magical, and romantic city one could ever imagine. The city boasts of its many tourist attractions. The most famous of which is the Eiffel Tower -- the landmark of Paris. Built in 1889, and considered as the city's symbol of par excellence, its rising skyline and magnificent structure makes the Eiffel Tower capture the brilliance of the days and nights in Paris.
The combination of modern and classical settings Paris conveys allows the city to hold the admiration of many people. From the olden days to the present times, Paris has been the home of many literary works and arts. Ernest Hemingway, for instance, crafted the novel The Sun Also Rises in a sidewalk cafe in Paris. It is also in Paris, specifically in the Louvre Musem, where we can find Leonardo da Vinci's masterpiece -- the portrait of Mona Lisa. Another museum, the Musee Picasso, is the home of arts and genius of the master of cubism (Rando, Paris). The city's vast heritage from the celebrated icons of art of the past draws thousands of visitors every year.
Paris has many majestic buildings that serve as remembrances of the bygone days. The architectural structures and styles of its splendid monuments, buildings, and churches, are characterized by the creative and imaginative minds of the classical period. Some of these that present grandiose settings include the Louvre, the Notre-Dame de Paris, Hotel de Ville, Saint-Chapelle, etc., characterized by gothic styles. These alone are sights that make Paris a significant place to see.
Aside from the city's architectural wonders, another well-known attraction in Paris is the Seine River. Most of Paris' historic and magnificent attractions, including the Eiffel Tower, run along the river's banks or close to the river's location. The city's business district is also near the river's proximity. Many literary artists, such as Ernest Hemingway, William Burroughs, and F. Scott Fitzgerald, crafted their works at the Left Bank (Rive Gauche) of the Seine River (Rando, Paris).
