Description

The Capitol City Rescue Mission in Albany New York was founded in 1949. As of 1982, the rescue mission got a new executive director in Perry Jones who involved in developing a rehabilitation and discipleship program. It took a short time for the mission to serve an extensive number of people (Burt & United States, 2010). The influx of younger people in its management marked a tremendous change in the perception, mission, and vision of the mission. This involved addition of other programs like free medical clinics, referrals and counseling, and learning. Because of the services being offered, the mission has grown to serve varied categories of people in terms of size and service delivery. In 2000, the mission had to acquire and shift to another location: a new thirty-seven square foot facility at South Pearl Street. Currently, the facility offers services to over one hundred and seventy five clients at night and fife hundred every day.

Problem Addressed By the Mission

Human needs of body, mind, and spiritual desires drive the mission. Capitol City Rescue Mission is dedicated to proclaiming a life-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ to the needy and hopeless individuals in the city of Albany Capitol region. The mission addresses the need for people to access the mind, body, and spiritual nurturing in order to return to the society and be of considerable benefit to others. As much as government efforts to cater for everyone in the society exist, most of these efforts do not meet the equitable and immediate needs of the needy in the society. This mission endeavors to offer assistance to such kinds of people. The Capitol City Rescue Mission is a discipleship and rehabilitation centre, which offers a wide range of service to its clients. The mission addresses most of its needs to the needy and homeless in the city. It provides services and accommodation, together with programs to women, homeless, and children.

Range of Intended Beneficiaries

The Capitol City Rescue Mission in Albany New York offers a range of benefits to its clients. First, it offers accommodation facilities to the homeless parents, children, and any other individual with similar needs. Secondly, the mission offers programs sentimental to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ and administrating change to the people in terms of behavior, character, personality, and physical productivity in the society. These services cater for the body, mind, and spiritual development of the individual clients (McGlone, 2007).

Scope of Intended Benefits

The benefits derived from the mission extend beyond the provision of homes to the needy members. Besides their primary intent, the role they play is also worthwhile to the government because it reduces the burden of having to offer services to such people. The Capitol City Rescue Mission assumes that many people in the city of Albany are under immense need for various responses. Because of the nature and magnitude of schooling in the country, which has not satisfied the immediate needs and desires of the students, and the people in society, the main goal of the mission is to offer such services in a distinctive and helpful way.
