Progress Memo

SUBJECT: PROGRESS ON THE CHILDREN AND FAMILY SERVICES
Goals Delivered
We are glad to inform you that in line with the agreed contract, we have made efforts towards making sure vulnerable children living within the county are fully protected. We have had talks with legal experts towards ensuring that the concerned children are able to access basic services and also that their rights as humans are protected. We are also employing legal methods and several others in searching for and reuniting these destitute children with their families. We have almost completed the searches for the families of the children available to us. This is quite important as the county can be free from the associated problems of hosting these kids. Reuniting these destitute children with their families will make sure that they get proper care, their educational pursuit is backed and their health is preserved. We are glad to announce that proper follow up was done for those children which we gave up for adoption. Several of them currently enjoy adequate levels of care. We have made sure that their new parents have proper knowledge of the essential needs of the children, are prepared to do anything to protect them and will give them the best level of care possible (Wildman, & Emanuel, 2014).
The Hennepin County has collaborated with related organizations and stakeholders in ensuring that defenseless kids are properly taken care of and that people who attempt to put their lives at risk or danger are made to face the law. There are cases where offenders who attempted to maltreat kids were dragged to court and hopes are high for their conviction. We have also been making efforts to identify and examine anyone who regularly maltreats helpless children. Even though the number of our staff who possesses skills in intelligence and investigation is quite thin, we have organized training for all others to make sure they carry out their roles in this regard effectively. Furthermore, we have equally been collaborating with the law enforcement, religious leader, court, correctional facilities and social department to make sure our efforts are a resounding success.

Goals Not Started
Regardless of the efforts we have made to improve the foster care routine in the Hennepin County, in some cases, we haven’t conclusively determined the ability of the households which are adopting these kids. A number of these families or their relatives show unwillingness to reveal their financial strengths and this makes it very difficult to ascertain their ability to take care of the children (Hennepin.us, 2017). Furthermore, we want to make clear that we haven’t found foster families for all the children as donors have been limited and thus, a number of children who haven’t secured foster homes or donors remain with us. We also want to state that we are unable to put together a comprehensive report on the reasons why we aren’t getting enough foster parents and this is mostly due to paucity of funds and staff. In the same vein, we want to inform you that we don’t have adequate facilities for regular children activities at our locations. Our resources are not enough to give the children all the recreational equipment they need.

Possible Interventions
We are making a plea to all well-wishers to assist us in improving the child foster scheme in the Hennepin County. Our resources are stretched thin and survival is becoming a struggle. Our current efforts are focused on improving our activities as well as giving higher quality of care to the helpless children. Our plan is to enhance our information dissemination methods so as to increase public awareness regarding our efforts in helping and looking after children. We enjoin all donors and well-wishers to equally supply us with educational materials which we can employ in training these children. We’ll be getting hot lines and begin collaborating with clinics and emergency personnel to make sure the children are better protected (Hennepin.us, 2017).
