Professional Business Proposal -- Spa Management
The purpose of this business proposal is to maximize revenue for the spa by increasing sales, generating additional business from the surrounding community, reduce staff turnover, and eliminate waste in the form of excessive use of hair care and other beauty products. A comprehensive review of spa business operations reveals that the business is not adequately taking advantage of its favorable location and its access to the relatively affluent local community. Meanwhile, other similar businesses in this area have managed to do so with particularly good results in terms of revenue generation.
Currently, the spa is plagued by a relatively high staff turnover rate that is partly attributable to low revenue production and lack of business, which is to be expected since it is standard in the industry for staff to rely on gratuities for a substantial portion of their income. In several cases, the spa has lost competent employees who secured similar employment at local competitors within relatively close proximity to the spa.
The Problem:
Currently, the majority partner insists on maintaining exclusive operational control over the one component of the business that is not performing up to its potential. As a result, neighboring businesses are significantly outperforming the spa. Inadequate resources are currently being dedicated to advertising for the purpose of increasing local awareness of the business. At the same time, significant amounts of hair care and beauty products are being wasted as a result of the relative inexperience of management in dealing with such resources and products. This excessive use leads to perpetual over-ordering of such products and a continually high degree of unnecessary waste.
Proposed Solution:
We firmly believe that the spa has tremendous potential for generating more revenue than it does currently. The surrounding area is affluent and the demographics of the community are conducive to much greater success of a business venture of this type provided only that its operational components are run more professionally and by individuals with more experience in this particular professional field rather than by owners whose primary authority relates to ownership and the original financial outlay for the venture.
