Microsoft's strategies are likely to reflect negatively on society, considering that the company is practically denying other companies the right to serve their users. In spite of the fact that other browsers are likely to fit the needs of some users better, these respective individuals have not have the opportunity to actually understand this. Society needs to be a place where the best products need to be promoted and openly displayed in order for the masses to be able to differentiate between some products and others.

Although some people might feel nostalgic when regarding the importance of concepts such as television and newspapers, the truth is that technology is rapidly advancing and these two mediums are limited in providing the public with the information that it wants. The internet makes it possible for users to have internet, television, newspapers, and a series of other mediums in a single concept.
Even with the fact that the television and newspapers merger reflects positively on society, there are going to be a lot of television and newspaper companies that are not going to be able to keep up with technologies and that are likely to experience great difficulty as they change their strategies. Going from conventional television and newspaper to the internet is a big step and some companies who were previously successful might have less success on the internet and vice-versa. The world is experiencing progress and all domains are affected as a result. What might seem innovative today can be perceived as out-dated tomorrow. It is thus essential for the masses to have a complex understanding of the fact that society is changing and that it is important for them to be an active part of this change.
