Job Design Process That Comply With ADA

The process involves analyzing the positions requirements by listing and describing of all the tasks under taken by the position holder. Then follows a careful examination of the performance of these tasks, how the position holder executes the tasks. The process considers aspects of people with various disabilities and the type of required assistive or supportive devices. The process explains the amount of the tasks performed, the amount of tasks required in that position. Lastly, the process analysis the occurrence order or sequence in performing the tasks.

The Recruitment Process

The process is compliant with Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action laws and regulations. This ensures provision of disability referrals and establishes workers diversity programs (Anastasio, 2011).

The recruitment process involves the advertising the available positions to be filled, the number of persons required, job description and the required qualifications. The advertisement is posted on the organizations, website and publications. After receiving application letters from interested parties, there is short listing and identification of successful applicants. The selected candidates are called for interviews and afterwards the organization reviews the evaluations from the interviewing team to analyze the offers made to the potential candidates. Additional negotiations before hiring can be made to the selected candidates before hiring according to the organizations' specifications.

The Selection Process

The organization sends letters and emails to the successful applicants. The staff checks on the requirements of the applicants and gives ratings based on the applications. The interviewing team develops relevant information, sends to the successful applicants, and performs initial phone interviews to keep in touch with the applicant. The team performs a highly structured interview; interviews involve questions relevant to the position and centered on age, race, ethnicity, gender, country of national origin, religion disability Or pregnancy. This results in better selection decisions that allow gagging all the applicants using the same standards and provide them with the opportunity to show their skill, abilities and knowledge. This interview complies with the accepted government and professional guidelines with no bias thus fair to the interviewed candidates.
