The Jiangxi Copper Company Limited is the largest of the 94 subsidiaries of the Jiangxi Copper Corporation, one of the principal organizations in China. They operate within the non-ferrous metals industry and processes several metals. In terms of copper processing -- one of their largest business lines -- the company is credited with owning the largest base for copper processing and producing in China. The Jiangxi Copper Company is itself composed from four individual subsidiaries, as follows: Dexing Copper Mine, Yongping Copper Mine, Wushan Copper Mine and Guixi Smelter.

The Jiangxi Copper Company is being individually traded on the stock exchange under the 0358.HK number. It was first listed in 1997 at the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and in 2001 at the Shanghai Stock Exchange. Today, the company operates on the principles implemented corporate-wide: increasing its size, its outcome quality and its strength. The general business occupation at Jiangxi Copper is that of dealing with non-ferrous metals. Its four main operations are those of mining copper, milling copper, smelting copper and processing copper. Additionally, they also process sulfur, silver, gold, lead-zinc, molybdenum and many more. Once the final products are completed, the company delivers them to the locations desired by the customers. The main final products are copper cathode, gold, platinum, sulphuric acid, selenium and palladium.

Furthermore, they also activate in the filed of equipments, as they manufacture and install equipments for mining and refining. Additionally, they develop and provide technologies related to the processing of non-ferrous metals and offer services of surveillance and consultations to various global locations (Website of the Jiangxi Copper Corporation, 2007).

It is worthwhile to mention that they invested large sums of money into the development of a powerful technological infrastructure, which now sits at the basis of their fruitful operations and positive results. Additionally, they also invested large sums of money into the adequate training and professional formation of their staff members.

Jiangxi Copper is an industry leader at a national level as they possess the largest copper processing base, but they are also an important global player, and this is proven by the fact that they directly collaborate with 30 countries. The strength of their position within the industry is proven by the numerous awards they received throughout their existence, such as the National Gold Medal or the National May-first Work Award.
