The client, Jess had done so well for the 30 days while sheltering that she almost enrolled in a training program. She had wanted to be a lab technician, but due to the lack of funds, her parents could not to send her to school. She was also preparing to move into a transitional apartment, but with all these excitements, David was still fighting for the custody of the children. The court had also given visitation rights to David, but it would be under supervision and Nick had refused to visit his father. For Shannon and Marty, they would go to the court every week and see their father for one hour. When Shannon went to sleep, there are moments when she would cry for her daddy (Mcintosh, 2015). The above things and moments were so difficult for Jesse to be alone and prompted her to want to go back to David. Moreover, there are moments when she would forget the bad things done to her by David and just reminisce on the good times they had together as a couple and family. Above all, Jesse was still in love with David. This was a very moving moment for her to fight for her children and defend them from their violent father (Kirst-Ashman & Hull, 2015).

Looking at other survivors of domestic violence, leaving an abusive relationship is not an easy task, but a herculean that has endangered the woman and calls for resources that are not readily available. Most survivors stay in abusive relationships with the hope of making things work, and we relate this to Jesse's story and her experiences of looking after the best interests of the children before attempting to solve their broken relationship (Dockterman, 2016). Female victims of domestic violence are held hostage because they find it hard to leave due to concerns over money for upkeep and the welfare of the children plus their mental well-being. Most of the women who fall, a victim of domestic violence, are not in a position to leave since she relies on the man for survival and thus, any decision she makes becomes a lose-lose situation. Women have been forced to live with Concussion Syndrome and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) due to the everyday result of abuse.

In most instances, the woman would run away with the kids, but in the end, would find herself back in the relationship due to circumstances beyond her reach. The children are the most important factor in marriage and therefore, what Jesse did was a plus because she put the welfare of her children first before her physical ailments. Additionally, we have social services that have come in handy when it comes to helping victims of domestic violence thus saving them from lives of hell. According to Valerie, it is evident that young adolescent males like Nick are not admitted into institutions for fear of their aggressive and violent behaviors. These young teenagers are aggressive because of being witnesses to their parents' fights now and then. Their only way to defend their territories is to be aggressive and the violence they observed from their parents and saw it fit to solve the problems they face (Dockterman, 2016). Aggressive and violent behaviors among teens are bound to be experienced because they are in their immature stages and with no guidance and counseling from their guardians or parents; it becomes their weapon towards attaining dominance and balance in the society. Violence is one thing that disintegrates the family, and it is high time for women to take their stand in society and fight against men who are abusive because it resorts into having mentally abused children.

Question 6

In the case presented, it is evident that Jesse is a strong woman because she was able to leave her abusive relationship and commit to a program that will help both her and her children. Secondly, she was able to release her children into the system and dedicate her time into gaining custody over her children because David had gotten custody over them. Therefore, the courts had given her temporary custody, and it became her fight to ensure that all her children were safe from harm. Her brother Alex was also a family member who enabled her to go through difficult times by giving her the needed support at the time she was in a tight situation (Mcintosh, 2015). Nonetheless, she was not able to stay with him longer because her stay strained his relationship with the wife. Since she was well aware of how difficult such situations are, she opted to take her leave and get back to her relationship. Thirdly, she faced many court trials and policies that were meant to pull her down, but the opposite became true for her. She fought all her battles with the help of Valerie and other social workers who wanted her to win this fight (Kirst-Ashman & Hull, 2015).

Therefore, she set the bar high for other female victims of domestic violence because she managed to narrate her story. Through her story, other women in abusive relationships were able to emulate her and understand that possibility of guarding her children and fending for them using the available governmental resources. It is through her we see the importance of sharing your problem with other professionals aware of the dangers to people in abusive relationships. Their expertise goes a long way in helping women look at the available alternatives and make a sound decision geared towards attaining a relationship that fosters love and harmony for families in societies (Mcintosh, 2015).
