My strengths include that I am trained in both technical and interpersonal skills through my education and work experience. Among other interpersonal skills, I am fluent in five languages; this would be of great value to an employer. These skills will help me to success because many computer engineers neglect interpersonal skills or simply cannot apply them. Also, my language skills will set me about the competition if our other qualifications are similar.

My major weakness is that my previous employment, while related, is not as challenging as a position in computer engineering will be. As such, I lack some of the experience that many employers are looking for.

I have many opportunities, since computer engineering is a very active field. Many companies have openings that I could apply for, and these positions are all over the world. Because of my language skills, many positions at world offices for major companies like IBM and Microsoft are open to me. I also see that opportunities exist for me to be in a variety of computer engineering positions, since I have both professional and interpersonal experience and expertise. This also opens a lot of possibilities since I can choose where I would like to focus my attention from a variety of work opportunities.

Threats to my success include competition for the best positions and changing technology. Because jobs in computer technology are popular, a higher number of individuals have been pursuing degrees in computer engineering and similar fields, adding competition for all positions. Another threat is rapidly changing technology, which makes it more difficult to keep up and be the most knowledgeable applicant in an interview.

Ideal Company & Position

My ideal company is Microsoft, where I am currently qualify for a number of different positions with my current skill set. Microsoft has offices in many places around the world. Because of these many locations and its size, room for advancement is nearly limitless.

As a company, Microsoft takes care of its employees. Benefits and compensation are some of the best in the field. Additionally, it is a prestigious workplace, coveted by many individuals in the computer science and engineering field. While work expectations from the company are quite rigorous, I would find that sort of environment challenging and rewarding.
