Robot Wars Essay

¶ … personal predictions on what computers will look like and accomplish in 35 years. This prediction will be based upon a large take over by computers in the near future which will exponentially increase the power of artificial intelligence.

In the very near future computers will take over society and run the daily happenings of every single person wishing to consent to this new lifestyle. Not all of the new society will come along, as new more primitive societies will be developed with no reliance on artificial intelligence or computer power. There will also be small remnants of a middle class where some of the new computing power will be used in combination with some older computer technology.

Essentially computers will become invisible to the naked eye as nanotechnology will afford design models to be extremely small. This invisibility of the computing power will have helped the artificial sources of intelligence to spread its influence and power with little protest or resistance. Computers will be ingested by humans and animals and become part of their biological structure.

By the year 2050 computers will have been renamed and labeled. These new computers will be very reminiscent of the ancient gods and be worshipped as such. The computing power of these new computer gods will have no doubt figured out how to manipulate society at large and those willing, will gladly allow for this robotic revolution to overtake their humanity. Computer spirits will have temples and shrines built in their honor and wars will be fought over these micro pieces of technology.

By the year 2050, computers will have also figured out how to clone humans or at least create cyborgs. Artificial beings and natural beings may become so intermixed that new races and ethnicities may develop within the robot world. If a robot war led by computers has not happened by the year 2050, one will surely be on its way. By this time, computers will also be able to apply laws and judgments down without any bias and all legal decisions, sports refereeing, and any other intellectual decision making will all be done by this newly developed technology.

War in Afghanistan After the terrorist group al Qaeda attacked the United States on September 11, 2001, the American military was sent to Afghanistan to attack the Taliban, and destroy their governing position. The Taliban became the target of the U.S. because they had allowed Osama bin Laden to use their country as a training ground for terrorist activities directed against the United States. However, the U.S. is now bogged down

When the author got home to his village, no one believed him, but within a day the military was proceeding to the spot where the martians had landed in the Southwestern suburbs of London. The second cylinder fell on Sunday, a day later, on the Byfleet Golf Links. The next night another cylinder fell on the fields near Addlestone. By then the inhabitants for miles around had panicked and fled,

Old Breed In real war, soldiers have been ripped from their families, surviving, sometimes barely, in foreign surroundings. The author of With the Old Breed repeatedly states he "just wanted to survive," (p. 186), which underscores the fact that cinematic versions of war often overplay the elements of honor and pride and downplay the more real, mundane, everyday feelings and experiences. In fact, Sledge notes that he did not want to

Proportionality in War The principle of proportionality in war is something that is hotly contested and debated. How the principle could and should apply in terms of response to military action or aggression, the incidence or possibility of civilian casualties and other things are all considerations when it comes to proportionality in war. In general terms, the argument to be made is that there should be consistence between a strike and

Ethical Challenges of the War in Afghanistan Ten years after the start of the war in Afghanistan, military leaders still face ethical dilemmas engendered by the war. The overall discussion that develops from the literature reveals more questions than answers. The essay examines moral issues surrounding unconventional warfare or police actions. Such questions as whether it is acceptable to kill noncombatant civilians or torture detainees are explored, along with Just War

Tomorrow when War began: Homer's perspective Writing a few years after the event when I am quite an elderly man and musing about the account that somehow or other made its way back into the past and interested an exceptionally large audience (many of them young I understand), I have to remark that Ellie's account was super-exaggerated. Possibly, readers like stories where everything works out well for young individuals and where,
