A master's prepared nurse is therefore an individual that has so many roles within the healthcare system. The paper will look at some of the roles of masters prepared nurses.

Master's prepared nurse's role as collaborator

Masters prepared nurses perform the role of being collaborators. Collaboration is the responsibility of a prepared nurse. The masters prepared nurses have the responsibility of ensuring that they work in teams in order to achieve better results. They have to ensure that they work together with other people within the healthcare industry. As a collaborator, a masters prepared nurse exchanges information and takes part in client care problems or other problems within the management with other members of their health care team in order for them to achieve joint accountability and responsibility when it comes to planning for decisions which are made concerning clients, community or systems that require outcomes (Peeks, 2009).

Team building and working together in teams enables the masters prepared nurses to build their confidence at the same time gaining some expertise and knowledge from other team members. Working in teams also enables the masters prepared nurses to fully convey their problems and ensure that they solve them accordingly.

Masters prepared nurses therefore have to ensure that they collaborate with other people so that they can effectively carry out their duties. This helps not only them but other people within the teams that they work in .They can also assist in solving problems that may come up in the course of carrying out their duties. Being collaborators they will bring other people together and hence ensure that everything runs smoothly. Therefore their role as collaborators is very important for everyone within the healthcare fraternity.

Masters prepared nurses also play a role as advocates. Many masters prepared nurses are now performing the responsibilities of an advocate. As advocates masters prepared nurses perform various activities for people who are around them. For instance when a healthcare executive has a problem, the master prepared nurse steps in and listens to their grievances. They then carefully analyze these issues and work accordingly to ensure that these problems are solved. Masters prepared nurses also act as an advocate for clients (Peeks, 2009).They do this through working towards the promotion of transferring the responsibility to clients through the creation of a climate of mutuality whereby nurses assist clients when it comes to exercising their rights and improvement of their self-care abilities. For instance incase a client has a problem they encountered within the healthcare system, it is the masters prepared nurse who will give them guidance on how they will go about that problem.

As an advocate the masters prepared nurse carries out various functions when it comes to assistance and guidance of anyone who needs their help. They act as counselors who people can talk to and be guided in case they have problems or they are faced with issues they are unable to solve on their own.
