Samsung Corporation is a Korean company headquartered in Seoul, South Korea. This is a company that is most well-known for its technology operations, though it also conducts business in several other areas on international commerce. Some of Samsung's primary focus areas for business include: electronics, shipbuilding, engineering and life insurance . Though by far the most recognizable products from Samsung are their telecommunications and mobile products. Because of the corporation's great success in this area, it has created another company called Samsung Mobile. This smaller company was really created to meet the mobile needs of the world's largest consumer market: The United States. To be close to their target, Samsung mobile became located in Dallas, Texas in the middle of 1992 . The Samsung Mobile Company focuses on researching, designing and marketing mobile telecommunications products. This company offers products for individual as well as business use. The Samsung Mobile Company's most popular products include: handheld wireless phones, wireless communications infrastructure systems and enterprise communications systems . Each of these products has been contributing significantly to the extremely rapid growth of this company.

Without question, there are several opportunities facing the Samsung Mobile Company. With the exponential growth of technological and telecommunications, this company is in a perfect position to make great profits in the future. By systematically integrating strategic expansion tactics, synchronizing global leadership and developing an extremely functional and efficient communications network, Samsung will be able to realize its enormous potential in the global arena. So even in this threatening area, there may be a chance to securing some contractual work for competitors . Knowing that this great opportunity exists on the global stage, there are certainly a great number of other companies that have embraced this chance to obtain high-grossing production contracts from the market's few leading conglomerates. Therefore, Samsung will surely have a great deal of competition in this area of business from companies like LG, Foxxcon, HTC and even Sony. Each of these companies has been extremely successful in forging profitable relationships with established technology design corporations. Thus, from the supply side of the equation, there is no question that Samsung is operating in a highly competitive Asian landscape.

The main strengths of the Samsung Mobile Company are its ability to produce quality products and minimize expenses. Other companies usually have to create their products from the parts made by several other companies. On the other hand, the Samsung Mobile Company is able to build many of its technological products using all of its own parts and resources . This allows Samsung to limit is expenses and widen its profit margins, thus giving them a strong advantage over competitors.

As far as weaknesses are concerned, Samsung is a foreign company trying to be successful in a new market. Many of the Samsung Mobile Company's largest competitors in this market are not foreigners. Companies like Apple and Blackberry thoroughly understand this market and the needs and preferences of consumers. Therefore, the Samsung Mobile Company is constantly struggling to collect data and research in order to keep up with competitors.
