In today's era of communication and high technology, almost every product sold around the world guarantees complete satisfaction. It is a finding of the marketing, of course, but it works, at least in convincing some of the people. Complete strangers are confident of knowing how other complete strangers can be satisfied. Differences are wiped out by the compatibility in needs and tastes. Customer psychology, market studies, information reaching virtually any point of the globe almost instantly, all these are key factors in establishing what potential buyers everywhere would fancy.

Every producer on the market pretends its merchandise guarantees satisfaction; at least, on a short-term. It would be unwise to guarantee satisfaction on the long-term. How would a producer be able to come up with an improved or a brand new product and sell it if the old one would do just as well? One fulfills customers' expectations for a short while and then comes up with new ideas that are not necessarily really innovative, but make a particular product look better, according to the standards up-to-date, for example.

Advanced technology helps the message travel faster and faster around the world. This way, no one is amazed to see that a French brand actually produced in Turkey, guarantees satisfaction to buyers in South America or Africa. Globalization is complete.

Scientists develop new ways of treating or even curing once terminal diseases, computer science helps rising communication bridges between once inseparable worlds, people and goods need less than a day to travel from Europe to America, for example, television is broadcasting news instantly and simultaneously in various parts of the globe, cloning is not a notion made up by science fiction literature writers anymore. On the other side, the suicidal rate is growing; the global warming is an indisputable fact, terrorism is threatening the whole world, Africa is still a continent where poverty and misery are at home, despite diamonds and oil, more and more people in the economic advanced countries are isolating themselves, believing that communication by means of a computer is much better than face-to-face interaction. In the end, it is a matter of ethics. Lab discoveries are good in many fields as long as scientists use them wisely. The human race evolved in the last one hundred years from the technological point-of-view more then in the last two thousand years put together, but the question is: can we also speak of a spiritual evolution?
