Introduction to Knitting, Crocheting, and Sewing. Scholars will watch three videos: Who Invented Crochet? The Interesting History of Crochet,

History of Knitting! 10th Century to Modern Times, and

Learn About the History of Quilting and How Quilts are Made

Scholars will analyze each video to picture their success before they aim for it. As scholars will illustrate and label goals, they would like to attain and share through topic discussions within a circle of scholars.

The knitting circle skill taught will help scholars practice patience, inspire creativity, and enhance mathematical skill sets.

Scholars will start to identify the things they do that make them happy.

Day 2

Crocheting Circle Skill

Things That Make Me Happy

Scholars will warm up this session with discussion questions on the three videos watched or other concerns they might have in learning the key terms, practices, crocheting, knitting, and sewing skills.

Ask Scholars: Have you or anyone you know ever crocheted anything? Engage scholars in their personal experiences with crocheting.

Scholars will learn the benefits of crocheting. To name a few:

· The ability to make and personalize their clothes and accessories

· Relaxation, fun, and patience

Crochet stitching will begin. Scholars will engage in the stitching process.

Scholars will discuss what they can do on any day they enjoy. Scholars will set goals daily. Scholars will start with identifying or designing a daily am ritual that helps and supports their day off in a good mood.

Day 3

Scholars will warm up this session by discussing the things that bring them peace. Additionally, Scholars will learn and discuss the benefits of crocheting, knitting, and sewing and how these skills can avoid stress and anxiety. This discussion might allow them to avoid, decrease and navigate those things that disturb their peace.

Topic Outcome

Scholars will identify a goal they would like to accomplish in this program. It can be knitting, crocheting, and sewing. Scholars will choose a goal and create an initial plan using both short-term and long-term planning.

Scholars will be introduced to a crocheting needle and how to make a chain lock or stitch.

Crocheting Circle Skill

Scholars will find an excellent way to focus their energy and stay out of trouble. Additionally, scholars will learn the benefits:

· Stress Buster

· Helps with depression

· Keeps your mind active

· It contributes to mindfulness and relaxation

· Increase self-esteem

Things That Make Me Happy

Scholars will learn how the degree of engagement on a task will enhance their knowledge and fulfill happiness.

Day 4: Career Readiness

Introduction to different careers. Scholars will watch three videos: What Does a Fashion Designer Do?, What Does an Interior Designer Do?, and What Does a Financial Literacy Consultant Do?

Topic Outcome

Scholars will be introduced to the basics of fashion design. This introduction will include a discussion of different styles of clothing, fabrics, and sewing techniques. Students will also learn about the history of fashion and how it has evolved.

Fashion Design Circle Skill

Scholars will learn how to sketch a basic design, choose fabrics, and construct a garment. They will also learn about the different aspects of the fashion industry, such as modeling, marketing, and merchandising.

Scholars will learn about the different career options available in the fashion industry. They will also understand the importance of having a positive attitude and working hard to achieve their goals.

Day 5: Social Skill Clubs for 4th and 5th-grade Female Students

Scholars will learn about the different aspects of etiquette and how they can use these skills in their everyday lives. They will also understand the importance of being confident and having good manners.

Topic Outcome

Scholars will be introduced to the basics of etiquette. The introduction will include a discussion of proper table manners, how to dress for different occasions, and how to act in various social situations.

Etiquette Circle Skill

Scholars will learn to shake hands, make eye contact, and properly introduce themselves. They will also understand the importance of being polite and respectful to others.

Scholars will learn about the different aspects of etiquette and how they can use these skills in their everyday lives. They will also understand the importance of being confident and having good manners.

Day 6: Interior Design and Fashion Design

Introduction to interior design and fashion design. Scholars will watch three videos: How to Draw a Floor Plan to Scale, How to Choose Colors for Your Home, and How to Dress for Your Body Type.

Topic Outcome

Scholars will be introduced to the basics of interior design. The introduction will discuss different styles of décor, furniture, and color schemes. They will also learn about the history of interior design and how it has evolved.

Interior Design Circle Skill

Scholars will learn how to sketch a basic floor plan, choose furniture, and select a color scheme. They will also learn about the different aspects of the interior design industry, such as marketing, sales, and project management (7 Elements of Interior Design, 2019).

Things That Make Me Happy

Scholars will learn about the different career options in the interior design industry. They will also understand the importance of being creative and having a good eye for detail.

Day 7: Financial Literacy

Introduction to financial literacy. Scholars will watch three videos: How to Save Money, Invest Money, and Budget Your Money. Scholars will discuss what they liked and did not like about each video. They will brainstorm other things they would like to learn about financial literacy and why.

Topic Outcome

Scholars will be introduced to the basics of financial literacy. The introduction will discuss different types of income, expenses, and investment strategies. They will also learn the importance of saving money and living within their means.
