B2B Correspondences and Analysis

To Whom it May Concern:

If we could request a moment of your time, I believe we can make it very worth your while. I'm contacting you today on behalf of ABC Company, a firm with over 25 years of experience in our shared industry. In the last ten years, our company has experienced tremendous growth, beginning several new productions operations abroad and transitioning to the highest standards in Information Technology systems. These improvements have allowed us to exceed projected quarterly earnings in 7 consecutive quarters. In this recession economy, I'm sure you know how rarified this level of stability has become.

With that in mind, I hope you will very seriously consider partnering with us in an endeavor that has the potential to bring both of our firms to yet a greater tier of success. XYZ has a tremendous record in the area of shipping. Indeed, we consider your internally owned trucking fleet to be an asset of remarkable value. However, as we both know, fleets such as yours often are underused in the lagging economy. Our research suggests that a significant percentage of your vehicles have been forced off the roads by low yield deliveries and high fuel prices.

I believer we have an answer to our mutual ambitions. XYZ's track record appeals to us uniquely as we search for a potential partner who can help to improve our supply chain demands. We have outsourced our shipping needs for the whole of our history but now find that the geographical expansion of our company requires a new approach. We believe XYZ has the resource, the reputation and qualifications to help us reach this goal.

At your nearest opportunity, please do respond with your thoughts on the matter. Whatever you decide, please also accept my thanks for your consideration and my kudos for the development of a fine organization.

Best Regards,

CEO, ABC Company.

CEO, XYZ Company.

Analysis:

The messages contained here above represent a common form of business correspondence. It is crucial for the effective businessman to be capable of communicating in letter form, especially in an era where email has become the preferred mode for interaction. One will note that in the messages delivered here above that the level of communication is clear, deliberate and laden with implications.

In the first message, the sender is the CEO of ABC Company, a firm inquiring about a partnership with the receiver, the CEO of XYZ Company. These roles are reversed in the second correspondence. Both messages exist in an environment that the first correspondence implies is a shared market. Thus, we may deduce that the environment is a production and delivery businesses of some nature. Technology used for interaction here is likely the email, a method which eliminates any form of 'noise' that might distort the message. Perhaps the only 'noise' of which to speak may be the company's email letterhead, which carries particular implications into the message beyond its immediate content.
