¶ … Seven-Year Follow-up of a Multiple-Health-Behavior Diabetes Intervention" by Toobert et. al (2010) are all multiple-variable line graphs. Line graphs are usually graphs connecting points that show trending properties within a specific time period, usually in the form of seconds, days, hours, weeks, months, or years. The x-axis of the particular chart is usually the time measured on a gradual basis, while the y-axis of the line graph is the quantity of the second measure. One can use line graphs in various quantity-over-time-driven experiments and data collection during a specific time period. For example, line graphs are common when it comes to comparing monthly or yearly stock profit and loss. They can also be used to measure the dosage of medicine and results thereof at a particularly given time; the average seasonal temperature per year; or the trending network values of a musical artist during a given time-period.

Multiple trends can be followed on the same line graph; case in point, Figures 1 and 2 showcase the multiple goal enhancements that were to be adhered to during a 5-year period, while Figure 3 showed the typical percentage result of adherence to the enhancements. For the context of the data used in the paper, the chart was an appropriate depiction of the data collected, and is thus presented in a neat and easy-to-read format. Since the parameters include the observation of data through a given time period -- 5 years broken up into 12-month increments -- the quantities for each respective month is seen as a progressive basis. Figure 3 somewhat differs from the first two figures, however, the prognosis remains the same; the graph is appropriate and perfectly represents the data collected. The scope and scale of all the graphs are also appropriately presented, as all the values are easily graph-able within the scale of the charts.

As far as whether there may be alternate graphs or charts that could be used to display the data, column graphs might be the second best choice. Column graphs, however, are more properly used if the overall goal was to present the different multiple variables and compare them relative to each other at a given time period. This, however, does not appear to be the case in the paper, because the paper adheres to a temporal basis, not a comparison with the different types of data.

Websites that address symptoms only are not taking into account the wealth of factors that can influence the diagnosis of a specific disease.
