Some people do indeed imitate what they see on television. But the media is not the only model. Parents and guardians provide ethical guidance and moral direction. Nevertheless, not all young people enjoy the benefits of a healthy and wholesome upbringing. Many come from broken homes, and all exist in a society that is increasingly atomized and dysfunctional. The media may help, but it is society itself that urges on individuals toward the commission of violent acts. Works Cited

Popular culture defines what is desired by any given sociological group based on pressure by peers. Every moment of the day, we are saturated by culture. When we turn on the television, not only are we watching the programs but we are inundated by advertisers trying to convince the viewer that there is some new product that needs to be purchased or a new movie that needs to be seen

Theories Sociology has been defined s the scientific study of human interaction and, as such, is accepted as a scientific activity (Leming 1997). Social science aims at discovering and explaining observed events of and in nature by means of a framework that can be tested. The goal of sociology is, therefore, to produce a body of knowledge that will provide not only an understanding of the causal processes influencing human behavior

Specifically, Schmitt addresses sexuality under what he refers to as a pluralistic perspective, asserting that men and women alike exist under a pretense of lifelong alterations in sexual desires and that in both, there may be some degree of inherent tendency toward a wide array of sexual desires across the course of a lifetime. However, the study also notes that even under this precondition, there is consistent and demonstrable

Age and Age Discrimination on an Organization We hear so much about race, gender and sexual orientation discrimination on the job. And this is with good reason. America, unfortunately, has a long and torrid history of racial and gender discrimination, and the last 20 years have added sexual orientation discrimination to the list, especially given stories of gays being banished from the military. Pain and pleasure are not part of Rawls' theory. Rather, he centers his theory on the concept of justice. Rawls strongly argued that humans have the capacity for genuine toleration and respect for other humans. From this premise Rawls felt that true pluralism was possible and a tolerance for true democracy throughout the world community was possible.
