¶ … Democracy and Politics From Palmer's perspective, the confessions made by an accidental citizen bring to light a different definition of the word citizenship. This new definition eliminates the politics ascribed to having citizenship and demands for individuals to embrace their membership to "a vast community of human and nonhuman beings" and by being in the world rooted in the knowledge, I depend on it for essentials. Hence, I must celebrate, affirm, and express gratitude toward that community in all aspects of life, and try being responsive to its every need.

As such, my immediate self-interests are set aside to allow for the success of my community's vision and goal. The goal of true citizenship entails uniting together for a common goal and pulling resources that contribute to attaining solutions that are beneficial to all citizens of a given community, state, and or country (Palmer 2014). Palmer also contributes to the discussion and says that the heart of a human being is the first home of democracy.

Therefore, we create a political climate that is less polarized because people understand what it means to have a heart and know that they have the power to call for democracy. Furthermore, the heart presents contradictory facts deeply rooted in beliefs and there is a chance of reinforcing these beliefs than compel a change in people. Common sense defies this notion, but researchers have proved it as true.

Individuals who dismiss heart talks as being irrelevant to politics are wrong and disingenuous and view reality through lenses that have distorted cultures. They treat the invisible inner dynamics and visible behavior as belonging to different worlds. However, it is necessary to treat them together because they interact; co-creating the world we live in and us (Palmer 2014). As such, the heart has the power to shape the world and bring different worlds together by uniting them into one community.

Brad Paisley's music video tries to understand existing political divides that cut across a population. His song is elaborate of how race is something that existed in America from long ago and right now, all we are trying to do is pick up the pieces and try functioning like a community.

The flag is what brings us together, and Brad is saying that we should not judge each other by our attire or style of dressing, but rather, we should learn from history and try to solve the political polarization that exists in our communities, borders, and countries (Brad). For example, a person wearing a necklace, baggy pants, and a hoodie should not be mistaken for a "thug" or a dangerous person. These are just symbols and nothing more and should not segregate the human race.

It is only through talking that two worlds are going to be brought together, and the history we share should not be a barrier, but a remembrance of our past. The video and readings in this paper clearly bring out the different ways we can bridge existing political differences. For many who have listened to the video, some misunderstood Brad's message like that one promoting racism in society. However, in April 2013 video,.
