Significance of Master of Science in Business Analytics program

The modern constantly changing internet Information technology environment produces large amounts of statistics referred to as "Big Data," which result from social connections and commercial transactions. The quantity of data is rapidly rising courtesy of the increase in cloud computing innovations, mobile applications and the uptake of other digital solutions or technologies. Thus, there is always a rising need for professional analysis of data to guarantee efficiency and create value out of the statistics.

In fact, this need is growing rapidly in businesses that make use of such data. The Master in Business Analytics program is one that is designed in such a way to equip the learner with the skills and tools to be able to identify trends or opportunities in big data and the information to deal with tangible business challenges. Graduates of this program are able to provide corporations with more effective findings for strategic management, enhanced operational efficiencies and better financial results.

In other words, the Masters in Business Analytics program is an interesting and challenging program. Even though I deferred my admission into the program twice (for reasons beyond my control), I feel that this is the right time for me to join the program for one main reason: the fact that am 37 and almost at the peak of my career and that this program will help me to get there faster.

Furthermore, I also feel that my experience in the practical corporate world has prepared me well to not only excel within this field of studies but also polish my knowledge base even further. By that, I simply mean to say that now I can bring in and balance theory and practice simply because of the way my life has panned out.

Upon finishing this course, I will be equipped with a wide variety of skills that could help businesses, including analyzing and making use of marketing data, social media trends and consumer behavior. The program entails taking a variety of core courses in business data analytics, predictive analyses, project management and database analyses. Many Masters in Business Analytics courses have a capstone project in the end, which will help me to learn more about investigating and making use of business data (Master in Data Science, 2015).

Studies indicate that analytics is soon going to be at the core of business; commentators on the matter, such as Tim Elliot, have argued that the next level of IT structures will combine "content," analytic data, transactional data and big data into a single and seamless set of services that he called "information capabilities framework" and business data analysts are the one who will be best qualified to manage this framework. Thus, I strongly feel that by learning about data mining, operations analytics and data driven decision science in the program, I will be able to tackle the challenges that my clients are dealing with (Elliott, 2013).
