I am an international student living in the United States. Previously I resided in Ivory Coast before I came to the United States. As a former Ivory Coast citizen, I know how hard it is to thrive in such a developing country. It takes a lot dedication and perseverance to rise above the rest. Ivory coast is a third world country where acquiring education is a personal initiative, there is hardly any motivation especially from your peers, there are no people in the society to mentor us, therefore; many young people end up not finishing their studies, and the few who manage to rise above the rest do it in difficulty Ivory Coast, 2011()

As an individual, I learnt the key to success is through education; my education is my treasured possession since I originate from a humble background. Through all odds, I managed to graduate with a bachelor degree in Business administration from a French speaking institution, and since you can only learn so much using this language, I also took my own personal initiative to learn English as my second language, and this opened doors for me to learn business...

During the years, I studied and worked in Ivory Coast, the country experienced a lot of political instability, various coup d'etat and insecurity among others and this made the business environment unfavorable Business Monitor, 2011.
While working at the energy firm, I was faced with hard management decision which had been fueled by the various political instabilities which was being experienced in the country at that time Joe Bavier, 2006.

Though I managed to sustain the company through such times, I saw the need have more knowledge business administration specifically focusing on marketing and risk management as this can help to improve company profitability even when the business environment is not conducive.
