Is Teaching an Art or Science

Teaching is both art and science. Teaching could be science because science is about gathering, analyzing, and evaluating data to finalize results. The teachers have to do the same. They must keep an eye on contemporary education trends, utilize the most recent information and teach it in their daily class schedule. They have to act more like researchers where they would make sense of which thing works best with students and which one does not. Not only that, but with diverse and inclusive classroom education. Teachers must be more watchful of the curriculum content that should not cause friction for students from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Their fear, sentiments, and spiritual connections have to be taken into account, making it even more complex to investigate what would work for them in what case. This is another experimental criterion that teachers under in their profession, just like in science.

On the other hand, teaching is art too. The scientific application of the content and making it fun for learning is the art in reality. The logical and quantitative fields like Maths and Science are boring subjects when looked at from a faraway distance; however, the teachers make it interesting when they apply stories and situations for problem sums to make them understandable for the students. The meaning-making in such impossible subjects is the entire classroom experience that teachers create with their engaging and flexible teaching style for every diverse student. The enhancement of cognition and effectiveness in their understanding is the accommodation teachers make convenient with their teaching behavior. The instruction techniques are infused with teaching scenarios and styles that depict a teacher’s novel ability to keep the students visually, psychologically, and academically attentive.

With the scientific research process and its amalgamation with the art of teaching, the teachers could be inferred to be born with crucial talents like leadership, teamwork, teaching skills, and an instinctively agreeable personality. Taking different students along and keeping them on the same page is a challenge that appears teachers are naturally ready to undertake wholeheartedly.
