Technology And Health Assessment Essay

Problem-oriented Assessment Health Technology Assessment.

Abstract

In the field of health care, technological innovation has resulted in genuinely astounding advancements. Breakthroughs have aided in improving health care delivery and patient outcomes in a variety of ways. Problem-oriented evaluations concentrate on approaches or techniques for dealing with a specific substitute, or supplementary methods are accessible for every disease, condition, or another issue. The costs, the costs effectiveness, and cost benefits are analyzed. The Sociocultural, Ethical, Legal, Adverse Events, efficacy, effectiveness, and safety are also examined. The information gathered shows that proper protocols are in place to ensure they have immediate access to psychiatric assessment and evaluation to avoid a traumatic future for the children.

The COVID-19 pandemic has taken a psychological toll on healthcare workers, infected individuals, and the general public. Concerns about the impact of Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on vulnerable people like children and adolescents have grown significantly worldwide. The majority of governments have taken various measures to halt the virus's spread. Closures of schools, lockdowns, and travel restrictions are only a few of the many changes that have disrupted daily routines and resources, hurting children's and teenagers' mental health (Panchal, Kamal, Cox, Garfield & Chidambaram, 2021). With more than 600,000 people dying from COVID-19 in America, many children are at a higher risk of developing mood disorders and psychosis. Factors such as Income insecurity, increase in crime rates, cyberbullying, and poor mental health experienced by parents may adversely affect the children's mental health. It may be associated with a rise in child abuse.

Technology is the application of knowledge in a practical way. Health technology assessment is the methodical examination of the qualities, consequences, or other consequences of health technology. Its main goal is to help policymakers make informed decisions on technology in health care, whether at the individual or patient level, at the level of the health care provider, or regional, national, and international levels. The application of HTA improves health care quality by assisting in the establishment and updating of a wide range of standards, recommendations, and other healthcare policies (Goodman, 2014). I opt for a problem-solving review. It focuses on alternate or supplementary technology-based treatments or techniques for managing a specific disease or other condition.

The assessment will center on children who develop anxiety, and they may exhibit intrusive thoughts related to self-harm, suicide due to the above influences. Assessment and evaluations are necessary to mitigate adverse circumstances from occurring. Health care technologies' safety, efficacy, and effectiveness are measured using health outcome variables such as death rate, disease rate, adverse health impacts, life quality, clinical outcomes, and client experience. By intervening, promotion, and early intervention...

Detection and advance diagnosis treatments may enable more successful healthcare routes by intervening long beforemedical issues deteriorate or develop. And to make sure that the proper protocols are in place for their immediate access for a professional psychiatric assessment and evaluation. This area of practice is essential as traumatic the future.

Literature review

According to the World Health Organization, mental health issues are a significant burden, which predicts that by 2030, mental health issues would be the most responsible diseases in many affluent countries (Feldman, Gebreslassie, Sampaio, Nystrand & Ssegonja, 2021). Mental health issues, particularly those that arise throughout childhood and adolescence, are costly because, if left untreated, they result in substantial social costs throughout one's life. The interventions offered, how the health system is organized, and how the interventions should be offered are all decisions that are taken.

The method data is collected in the health system and how actions should be carried out to obtain the best possible health outcomes with the resources available while respecting people's expectations. The medical, organizational, economic, and societal ramifications of applying solutions inside the health system are all addressed by health technology. Many organizations have their own HTA units, state, and corporate funders, healthcare systems, and medical professional organizations are just a few examples. HTA contributes to the knowledge base for enhancing health care quality in various ways, principally by creating and upgrading a diverse range of products of interventions, regulations, and other healthcare systems.

There are three primary orientations to HTA technology-oriented assessments, problem-oriented assessments, and project-oriented assessments, according to Goodan (2014 ). The three preliminary assessment approaches overlap and complement one another. A technology-oriented assessment can look at various problems that technology can solve and how suited the technology is for diverse applications. A problem-oriented assessment analyzes the efficacy, safety, and other effects of several technologies for a specific problem and develops ways of solving it. It may produce a technology-based assessment of one or more options that technology offers to the primary caregivers. A project-oriented assessment can consider a wide variety of technology's or its alternatives' implications in a specific environment and the role of technology in solving various challenges.

Evaluation of Efficacy, Safety, and Appropriateness of HTA

In 2017, Alotaibi & Federico looked at the influence of health information systems on consumer health. The purpose of the study was to evaluate the current scientific evidence on the impact of various health information technologies on patient safety. Patientsecurity medication mistakes, adverse events, medication errors, adverse drug events, and mortality in healthcare systems are all factors to consider. Electronic physicians orders, clinical decision support, E-prescribing electronic sign-out, handoff tools, and bar code medication administration were used in the inpatient and outpatient studies. Implementing an electronic medical record has been shown to reduce medical errors and increase patient safety. However, documented studies on health information systems reveal that the results vary when different organizations use the same technology.

The practical ramifications of disparities in inappropriateness, efficacy, and safety are becoming increasingly apparent to many doctors, patients, managers, and most politicians. Many studies look at registers and databases, using other demographic and descriptive data to investigate any relationships between technology and outcomes in general and traditional practice settings. Validity establishes casual linkages between treatments and health experience in some research, such as observation (Goodman, 2014). The studies to evaluate safety .efficacy…

Healthcare Technology One of the main barriers to implementing such a plan as described above is the expense of doing so; but that is true only if one looks at the immediate cash expense.
