Emotional Behavior Disorders: Needs Statement
The current mental health landscape leaves much to be desired for children with emotional behavior disorders. There is a significant gap in services, particularly when it comes to counseling (Abraham et al., 2021). This is where our proposal comes in. Our goal is to close the gap by providing additional counseling services via telemental health to kids with emotional behavior disorders. Telemental health, which is the use of technology to provide mental health services, can be a valuable tool for counselors who work with children. It can help to close the access gap that exists in many communities, providing services to children who might not otherwise have access to them. Telemental health can also help to build rapport and trust with children, who may be more comfortable communicating through technology than in person (Abraham et al., 2021).
We have several objectives that we hope to accomplish with this proposal. Firstly, we want to increase access to counseling services by making them available remotely. Secondly, we want to improve mental health outcomes by providing evidence-based counseling services that have been shown to be effective for this population. Finally, we want to increase family satisfaction by involving families in the counseling process and keeping them updated on their child’s progress. We believe that by achieving these objectives, we can make a real difference in the lives of children with emotional behavior disorders and their families.
