Prioritize 1. Memory and How to Improve It I have always been interested in memory, and how some people seem better at memory than other people. This is a topic that is relevant to all people. Also, there are a lot of practical uses for studying memory. Improving memory can improve performance in many areas of life, from schooling to the workplace, to interpersonal relationships. 2. Ways to combat peer pressure This is a subject that is important not just because kids sometimes get talked into doing things they should not be doing, including delinquent or even criminal behavior. In fact, adults are also susceptible to peer pressure. Throughout our lives, we remain concerned about what others think, which causes us to conform to their expectations. I would be interested to research the psychology behind peer pressure, and how to help people build resilience and self-confidence to resist it. 3. Post-natal depression Many women experience post-natal depression. The depression can be exacerbated by the prevailing stereotype or norm that women are natural nurturers. When they experience depression, new mothers may feel like they are not living out the roles that others or society expects of them. The depression could be related to a number of issues, such as questioning their career path, regretting having children, or not wanting to be pushed into the traditional patriarchal gender roles.
