The U.S.A faces a continued security threat from countries of Arab origin. This could be the most likely reason that prompted America to particularly make a strategic decision to disarm Iraq under the leadership of Saddam Hussein as he was seen to be pursuing the manufacture of weapons of mass destruction. While addressing the state in January 2003, the then president of the United States George W. Bush instructed the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Criminal Investigation Agency (CIA) and the Department of Homeland Security, including the Department of Defense to develop a terrorist threat integration center to merge and analyze all types of threat information in a single centralized location. Such a move was necessitated by an increasing fear that Americans at home will one day face the threat of weapons of mass destruction.(Porteus,2006)

The bio-warfare programs will never end so long as countries continue to compete for military supremacy all over the world. Given the assignment to conduct terror attack in America, the most likely weapons of mass destruction I would employ is a bio-chemical weapon. The major reason for this selection is that most people are unaware of such weapons. Secondly, America is still embarking on bioterrorism research to ensure that effective vaccines and treatments are available incase such threat appears. Last but not least, a bioterrorism weapon cannot be detected right away because symptoms often mirror the ones exhibited by a person with the common cold or flu.

In my terror attack against the Americans, I would use Anthrax. Anthrax is scientifically known as Bacillus anthracis, a rod-shaped bacterium that infects human beings through the respiratory system, skin or digestive tract. Anthrax is very lethal and not easy to disseminate as one may think but through my training as chemical terrorist, it remains my best option against America to penetrate through security devices as Anthrax travels long distances in the air to be inhaled.(Fox news 2003). Moreover inhalation of anthrax has a fatality rate of 90%.

Anthrax can take various forms to cause harm; Americans are familiar with the powder form anthrax as a result of the experience of 2001. In this case, four contaminated letters were sent to some government officials. Consequently, twenty three people contracted anthrax ranging from postal workers to media workers. Some other people from New Jersey and New York City died from the exposure of this bacterium.

Anthrax occurs naturally in domestic livestock and certain wildlife animals. it's a bacterium that is often found in the soil and can also be made and produced in a scientific laboratory. I would source my anthrax from a scientific laboratory and process the bacteria into inactive state and mix it with canned food that would not destroy its ability to produce toxins once inhaled. Canned food can easily be carried to sports events where there are huge crowds. I would therefore before the execution of this terror attack have taken a vaccination against anthrax to prevent myself from the infection by this deadly bacterium.

I would ensure I secure a job at a fast food that normally dispenses light foods like popcorn to sports enthusiasts like the football games. This will enable me be in apposition of being in contact with the food going to be eaten and placed close to the nose of many people within the venue. Being that the powder is not detectable by scanners and it has no smell, I would just carry it in the pocket in a casual manner. When serving the customers, I would ensure I have the dust in my hands and occasionally dip my hands in the pocket to get some more. Being that the gloves worn while serving are white, the powder will not be detected easily by the fans that are in a hurry to get into the field.

My potential targets would be American students in big symposiums and inter-university games where large number of students would gather together drawing also other third party officials like senators and unsuspecting onlookers in bid to inflict emotional pain and loss. The federal government has anthrax vaccine for about 4,000 people and since my method of attack is an aerosol inhalation covering large distance across states, my mission would then be crowned as "mission possible." This is because by the time the extra vaccines are produced, and treatment done, a large number of students will have died as most of them would go back their homes, and when symptoms strike it will be argued that it's because the place was overcrowded and mixed with all manner of people.

The other method would be to find the highly populated areas like the terminus and open the envelope containing the powder at a place close to the fan that is used as a ventilator. This can be repeated close to all the fans around since these fans are always located in such a manner that their aeration effect is felt throughout the room and this will carry the powder perfectly to all areas of the room.
