The main objective of practicing paraphrasing is to support research ideas by stating the information in one's own word. Despite the benefits that could be derived from a paraphrasing, paraphrasing can still be tricky because it is essential to keep the original point of the argument. However, it is critical to understand that paraphrasing is different from an original source and there is a need to honor the source with an appropriate referencing in order not to fall in plagiarism. Despite paraphrasing a phrase in one's own word, it is still essential to cite the source and refusing to cite source can be termed as plagiarism. One of the importances of a paraphrasing is by assist a writer to avoid making a large quote from an original article. A writer wishing to present a quality research paper should be able to review the past studies to enhancing a greater understanding about what the other writers have revealed about the topic. In essence, a paraphrasing is a useful tool to complete the literature review without plagiarized the original content.
On the other hand, objective of annotation is to evaluate and summarize sources that will be used to complete a research paper. Summarizing the sources assists in understanding the content of the article and determining whether the article is reliable or not. Typically, an annotation is an excellent method to prepare for a project. Collecting useful sources and writing annotation for each source will assist a writer to identify the sources that are best fit to complete a research paper. In essence, annotation allows a writer to understand what other writers have been done on the research, which wills consequently assisting in formulating a thesis.
Moreover, the annotation assists in assessing the usefulness of a source by comparing it to other sources. The strategy assists in identifying whether the sources is objective or bias. The annotation also assists in making a decision whether the article is reliable or be useful for the proposed research paper.
Results and Interpretation
By reviewing the concept paraphrasing and annotation, I am able to understand how to apply my paraphrasing skills to write annotated bibliographies. When preparing my annotated bibliographies, what I need is to locate the major ideas or individual statements in the article, while maintaining and preserving the logical connection of the paper. My skill has also made to understand that I should refrain from copying phrases word for word from the original content when preparing my annotated bibliographies; rather, I should summarize the original content of the article in my own words in such a way to reflect the original content. The strategy will assist me to prepare my annotated bibliographies without falling into plagiarism. Another useful method in carrying out the paraphrasing is by changing the important words using synonyms while maintaining the original content of the article. This strategy will assist me to prepare my annotated bibliographies.
Value annotating a peer-reviewed article adds to my Understanding
A peer-reviewed journal article is a research article that has passed through rigorous editing process before finally allowed for publication. Before a peer-reviewed article is published, the journal editor must assess the content of the article and later forwarded to experts in the field. The goal of using peer-reviewed article is to enhance the quality of a research paper. Typically, annotating a peer-reviewed article is very critical in enhancing the quality of my research paper because it will assist in identifying the quality peer-reviewed articles to complete my project. More importantly, I believe that annotating a peer-reviewed article will assist in understanding the strategy the author uses to organize the paper before finally being allowed for a publication. Understanding this strategy will assist me to incorporate the similar styles in my project to enhance the credibility of my research papers.
The value of a peer-reviewed article can add to the value of my advanced management practice. Effective management practice involves planning, organizing, formulating and implementing a policy to achieve organizational objective. In preparing for the high quality annotated peer-reviewed, I can use the procedures stated above for my management practice. When advancing my management practice, I will need to identify both the time and financial resources needed to complete my annotated bibliographies. Furthermore, formulating the project plan will follow, and I will organize all the resources to implement my management plan.
