This is an application paper that looks at the concept of finding a project that would change the lives of people forever. This project identified here is a solar powered juice truck that is meant to offer healthy juices as alternatives to the prevailing soft drinks. It looks at the process of executing this project to the target population.
Solar Powered Juice Truck Project
Comparison of your idea with everything else that
In an attempt to ensure that school children and the general public has access to healthy drinks that are free from the various chemicals, pesticides and the high amounts of calories, there have been attempts applied in the past. Professionals in the field of diet and great nutritionists have published articles and in them encouraged people to adopt the healthy alternatives. Some of the alternatives to soda that over time have been advocated for are smoothies made from low fat milk, skim milk or soymilk. The other alternative advocated for widely is the unsweetened or lightly sweetened tea (since these are caffeine free), 100% fruit juice, coffee and most of all and all time preferred is water (Alireza M., 2013).
On of the most significant attempts, apart from the professional articles and advice as depicted above is the deliberate campaign that was instituted by the current first lady Michelle Obama dubbed "Drink Up." The sole propelling factor to this campaign is the increased cases of diabetes occasioned by obesity among young Americans. These diabetes cases are widely associated with sodas and other soft drinks found on the store shelves. To achieve her goal and effectively so, Michelle joined up with Partnership for a Healthier America to drive forth her efforts in the push to have more children drink more water, which is deemed the best alternative to any sodas or soft drinks (Associated Press, 2013). This is a significant step taken like no other at the height of American leadership hence the SPJT wil be grounded on the foundations set by this campaign and other similar ones to achieve its goal since the target population and the objectives are the same.
6. Explain how your approach to addressing the need defined above is truly innovative or unique.
The approach that will be used by the SPJT is a double edged approach that looks forward to sensitizing the younger generation on the significance of environmental conservation and at the same time giving them the healthy benefit of environmental conservation. The solar powered production of the juice will be free of any pesticides, meaning all round environment friendly, devoid of fossil fuel use and no pesticides at all and at the same time, taking into account these two factors, delivering what is healthy and easily believable to be so to the children at school as opposed to the pesticide based and fossil fuel produced sodas. This presents a diverse approach to life and environment conservation and preservation.
7. Your strategic plan for action
The fist two years of the 10-year period will be predominantly public relations and relationship creation time. Being that the program will heavily depend on the support of the schools where majority of the target population is most parts of the year, the close working relationship with schools will be significant. The two years will ensure maximum contacts are created and the importance of having natural and healthy diet especially in drinks is well understood among the target schools.
The subsequent 8 years will be basically on implementation with an evaluation interval of two years to access the impact and the progress as well as the challenges of the SPJT. At the end of the 10 years, there will and end term evaluation that will give the overall impact of the project.
8. Measurement of results
In this case, the measurement will take two forms, the qualitative and the quantitative measurements during the one year evaluative research. The quantitative measurement will be a random count or regular basis of the number of children within school that have stopped taking sodas and other soft drinks and resorted to the SPJT products and water. This will be an accumulative approach with questionnaires given out randomly during the once every two years evaluation. This will give the rough number of sodas being taken at the beginning of the SPJT project and subsequent change in quantities over years to the tenth year.
The qualitative measurement will on the other hand give the implied or experienced health benefits of changing from the sodas to the SPJT healthy products. This data will be obtained from the children who will have revealed that they changed from the regular sodas and questionnaires to fill in their observed health changes.
9. Your budget
The prime source of funding will be from sponsors who have the same vision for the children in school and a change in generation over the next 10 years on the type of food that is consumed in our schools.

10. Your experience and credibility
The SPJT is a regional project and a pilot one in that case that is targeted at a more that 30 schools with populations greater that 400 children each. The project will hence cover a wide geographical area and will equire significant funding to be able to meet the obectives and cover the targeted population. SPJT is a unique program that is geard towards breaking a system of dependency and reliance on sodas and soft drinks hence will be highly appreciated and received in schools by management and parents equqlly since it brings on board a solution to a challenge that faces the community but no one before has been in a position to get a solution to, yet everyone knows where the problem lies. This acceptability due to a prevailing known problem and the area of coverage as well as the appropriate target population will ensure the project attains high levels of success hence worth the investments that will be directed towards its implementation.
