Two of Milton Friedman's main points referred to the belief that all companies had the primary objective of registering profits, and also that it was normal and natural for unemployment to exist to a specific degree; it if were to be entirely eliminated, inflation would be created. As opposed to Friedman's view, Archie Carroll believes that the primary scope of the economic agents in that of operating in a socially responsible manner.

Additionally, the more modern economist states that the focus of corporate social responsibility is the natural response to the evolution in the society and the growing need of business agents to balance the needs of their multiple stakeholders (Carroll, 1991). 3.

If one were to select the principle to implement within the workplace, this would be the emphasis on corporate social responsibility, due to the particular fact that it would better ensure the professional development and personal well-being of the staff members, but also as it would create more social benefits for the entire community. 4-5. At the level of the second category, the examples could include McDonald's, who has focused on the cultural integration of its stakeholders, or Apple, which has succeeded due to a strong relationship with its customers. Question 2 Ben and Jerry's Homemade Holdings Inc. is popular not only among the ice cream consumers, but also within the business society, due to its efforts of integrating corporate social responsibility.

In this direction, the company has initially commenced by creating some goals of corporate social responsibility- similar to most companies which engage in responsible social behavior. Still, Ben and Jerry took one additional step and decided that simply stating the goals and trying to work in their direction is not sufficient. The managerial team at the ice cream company then sought out to create a mechanism by which they could actually assess the degree to which the company had been able to attain its CSR goals.

This measurement mechanism is now called Quality of Results metric (QoR). It has only been implemented in 2010 and it is still.
