Centripetal force is often confused with centrifugal force, which is not a real force, but the apparent force caused by inertia while an object is changing direction. Static equillibrium is maintained when the sum of all the forces acting on a stationary object is zero.

Mechanical energy is most commonly transformed in to electrical energy by means of moving a magnet over a conductor. Modern electrical generators use either a spinning magnet inside a torrodial coil of conductive wire, or a spinning torroidal coil of conductive wire with a stationary magnet inside. The energy can then be transmitted along any conductor connected to the coil.

In a direct current circuit, the potential difference across the circuit is reduced by the product of the resistance and the square of the product of the current and the potential difference applied to it. (Stollery)

The equivilant resistance of a series circuit is equal to the sum of all resistances in the circuit. The equivilant resistance of a parallel circuit is equal to the product of all the resistances in the circuit divided by the sum of all the resistances in the circuit. (Xyzzy)

A moving electric charge in a magnetic field experiences a force that is perpendicular both to the magnetic...

(Nave) The right hand rule is used to calculate the direction of the force. If a person's right hand is aligned such that the fingers are pointing in the direction of the magnetic field and the thumb is pointing in the direction of the velocity of the electric charge, the force on the electric charge will be perpendicular in the direction the palm is facing.

Physics Simulation Displacement, Velocity, and Acceleration In the session long projects for this class, you will be asked to conduct experiments in a "virtual" laboratory. We will use the falling-ball simulation (Background: University of Oregon, n.d.) to calculate the acceleration of gravity on the Earth, Moon, and Mars. The most general equation for displacement is a = s0 + V0t + (1/2)at2 where's = displacement after time t s0 = initial displacement (location at t

Displacement, Velocity, And Acceleration Work out the following problems. Be sure to show your work in detail. See the uploaded files for examples of how the problems should be solved and presented. Blood flow is no longer measured at a single site but between an area and the LDI due to being non-contact cannot interfere with the final

Properties of Light

Properties of Light Light is one of the most basic physical phenomena. It is observed by most people on a daily basis, and even people who lack formal understanding of the properties of light have some understanding of its properties. For example, most people have seen mirrors, rainbows, and know that glasses can improve vision, though they may not understand that reflection of light explains how mirrors work, that dispersion

In the long run, the volatility of money supply will also only cause changes in inflation rate and thus the nominal GDP of the country, as believed by monetarists, as the markets are believed to be always approaching their full employment rate. But with evolution of capital markets and appearance of numerous wealth capitalization methods besides holding M1, the velocity of money became very variable rather than stable and equal

It is reported that many modern approaches to damage identification are "based on the idea of pattern recognition (PR)." (Worden and Barton, 2003) A PR algorithm is stated to be one that
