SPURSBERRY POLICE DEPARTMENT: Vice Squad Division

The award-winning Spursberry Police Department consists of a team of 45 licensed officers properly trained and prepared to enforce all laws and investigate all crimes. The Spursberry Vice Squad improves service to the community by focusing exclusively on crimes related to prostitution, gambling, and drugs.

Mission Statement

The Spursberry Police Department is dedicated to enforcing all local, state, and federal laws and ordinances with the utmost efficiency and integrity. Through our commitment to the community, the Spursberry Police Department will reduce crime rates and quickly and effectively prosecute all offenders through the county and state judiciary system. With an eye on optimal efficiency and effectiveness, the vice squad is highly specialized, divided into specific units targeting certain criminal behaviors. Our specific units function as follows:

Administration

Administrative duties of the Sprusberry Police Department Vice Squad include processing all reports and complaints in a timely, accurate, and organized manner. The Spursberry Police Department uses state-of-the-art computer systems and electronic databases as well as traditional paperwork forms for hard copies. The administrative office is also responsible for managing dispatching services, fielding emergency 9/11 telephone calls, and preparing evidence for use in civil and criminal court trials related to the crimes specific to the vice squad.

Prostitution and Sex-Related Crimes Division

Spursberry's Vice Squad is divided into targeted units to maximize efficiency of our force. To combat sex-related offences and crimes in our town, the force focuses on enforcing all laws and regulations regarding prostitution and the sex trade. Whie our policing policy does not include "baiting" tactics or other forms of entrapment, we are dedicated to doing everything we can to eliminate prostitution from our streets and ensure the safety and welfare of all citizens. Offenders, whether sex trade workers or their consumers, will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

The pornography trade in general is also under surveillance by the Spursberry Police Department, which is dedicated to preventing the proliferation of illegal and child-related pornography whether in print or multimedia format.

Gambling Division

Gambling behavior has skyrocketed in our town due to the recent passing of Ordinance 541.6, regarding slot machines in the Fair Grounds. However, the main focus of the Spursberry Police Department vice squad is on organized gambling rings that propagate sports bets booking. The vice squad regularly conducts thorough investigations of suspected organized gambling leads, including patrolling the Fair Grounds for illegal gambling practices and investigating local area bars for nefarious activities.
