¶ … educators, there are a number of different tools that can be utilized, to effectively improve the overall quality of education that is being received. One such tool is the International Reading Association. Where, they have a number of different tools / techniques, to help improve reading comprehension and learning styles. However, to fully understand if this would be useful to educators requires examining: their website for its design / appearance, various items / links and ease of use. Together, these different elements will provide the greatest insights, as to how effective the International Reading Association is: in helping teachers to improve the underlying amounts of reading comprehension.

Design / Appearance

The design of the website is very eye catching. With the different shades of: blue, green, yellow, gray and orange; catching the attention of the reader when the visit the home page. Then, the home page has various news feeds, covering everything surrounding different reading news and initiatives around the world. This is significant, because these two elements improve the underlying visual effectiveness of the website, by making it appear to be conservative, yet cutting edge. Various Items / Links

The website has a number of different items and links that can help educators be able to effectively improve reading comprehension levels. Where, the site was subdivided into three general categories to include: resources, information for parents / educators and access for council / affiliate leaders. Under the category of resources, there are a number of different tools that are available to educators to include: a radio station, lesson plans, reading lists, resources by topic and professional development just to name a few. The section containing information for parents / educators has a several different links about the International Reading Program such as: information for parents, advertisers / exhibitors on the site and various book distributors. The items / links that are relevant to council / affiliate leaders; have a number of different resources to include: programs, management, awards, projects and publications / communications. The different items that were mentioned above are significant, because they show how the website will provide a variety of tools to educators, to improve reading comprehension levels. Ease of Use

The website is very user friendly. Where, visitors can be able to quickly find the information that they are looking for, without having to go through the entire site. This is important, because it allows the International Reading Association; to be able to effectively provide a variety of information to a large audience including: parents, teachers, the press and the general public. As a result, anyone of these different groups would find the web site effective, at addressing any kind of questions they may have or in helping to provide information they are searching for.
