¶ … doctor?

Various intervening factors in people's lives influence them in making choices concerning their future. Working as a doctor is not something that most people are looking forward to do, as this particular job involves several features which might not seem appealing to them. When hearing about working as a doctor, one most probably relates to blood, grossness, and similar things. However, people tend to overlook the fact that doctors save lives every second and that they are mainly responsible for their very existence.

Little people can actually claim that they or a member of their family have not came across a situation when they needed a doctor. Moreover, even lesser people can claim that did not turn to the world of medicine when they wanted to better their physical condition.

Generally, people start considering becoming doctors from their early lives, consequent to their first encounters with people working in the field. A main reason for such happenings is that they learn that doctors are people just like them that have dedicated their lives to saving others. It is when people develop a connection with their doctors that they discover how the doctors are ready to do anything in their power to ameliorate their patients' well-being.

The general public normally believes that it takes certain qualities for one to become a doctor, and, that if one does not have the required values, he or she should not attempt to decide their own faiths. This is one of the falsest statements that one could take into consideration, since doctors are definitely not people possessing supernatural powers and that had been born with the scalpel in one hand and the stethoscope in the other. People need to listen to their hearts when choosing what they will be doing for the rest of their lives, since wrong choices often have devastating effects. For instance, one should avoid becoming a surgeon when he or she is aware that dexterity is not their best feature. However, working as a doctor does not always imply having to operate tiny devices through even tinier body parts.

Working as a doctor gives you the chance to become closely attached to your patients. There are little professional relationships in this world that involve people leaving their lives in the hands of complete strangers. It certainly is a unique feeling when you know that someone turns to you in hope that you will relieve them of their suffering.

A doctor is not one that goes to work knowing exactly what he or she would be doing for the rest of the day. A doctor's life entails a great deal of adventures and extreme emotions, as the job is full of the unexpected. A good reason for one to consider a career as a doctor would be that this particular job resembles no other, and that it presents people with the opportunity to work in one of the best places that society has to offer. There is nothing like the feeling that you have the power to prolong one's life and that you can bring happiness by doing your work properly.
