Remification Of Worldviews
Mortimer j.Alder an American philosopher an intellect and a person of remarkable wisdom did not believe that education should be determined by social engineering but unchanging standards of truth.
What Alder was trying to say?
Mortimer Alder in his statement "more consequences for thought and action follow affirmation of denial of God than from answering any other basic question" was trying to point out an argument about existence of God, he tries to point out that it is important to understand the issues that surrounds the seriousness of the truth that are made and the amount of evidence required to make conclusions. Since belief in atheism could possibly result in irreparable consequences, therefore the theist should be given chance to produce concrete evidence to support their position. He tried to say that atheism simply evades the test of evidence with their fingers crossed and they hope that they do not find the unpleasant truth that eternity does indeed exist.(Phillips,2008)
Example explaining what Alder was trying to say.
If someone puts two jugs of lemonade in front of you and says that on is better than the other since the consequences of getting the more bitter drink would not be serious, one will not consider getting amount of evidence in order to make a choice but if in one jug sweetener is added and the other introduced insect pesticide then one will want to have a bit of evidence before making a choice .so Alder was trying to say that belief in God have intellectual warrant.
What ramifications do believing or not believing, have on how you view the world and decision that you make?
One of the ramifications is that mankind can discern a great deal through reason, and also hopelessly removed from knowing everything through it. Reason alone cannot determine whether or not God exist. It drives individuals to participate in making decisions. When it comes to inability to believe tend to make one convince himself .One would like to attain faith yet he/she do not know the way and try as much as possible to cure himself of unbelief and seek for remedy.(Pascal,2010)
What are the ramifications of a theistic and naturalism worldview as they pertain to believing and not believing in God?
There exist various ramifications of a theistic and naturalism worldview, a theistic and naturalism are contrasted.christian theists find in God a source of moral strength which enables an individual to live life that are better than those who live without him. A theistic view objective moral value as rooted in God. God owns holy and good nature supplies the absolute standards against which actions and decisions are measured. It gives moral lives paramount significance. A theist cancels the existence of a lawgiver. It has led to believing that there is no good and evil, that is no right or wrong and no moral accountability for ones actions.
