Being an American President is surely one of the most honorable duties that one can take on, considering the country's role in international affairs and the fact that people in this position have a great influence over all Americans. Even with this, the Mount Rushmore National Memorial is not only meant to celebrate the fact that George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln have presided over the country. It is actually meant to emphasize the fact that they distinguished themselves from other U.S. presidents as a result of the events that occurred during their administrations and because of the actions that they took with the purpose of assisting their country during critical moments. While it would be architecturally wrong to produce any kind of modifications to this artwork, John F. Kennedy would most probably fit alongside of the other American hallmarks if the sculpture were to suffer any form of change.

Mount Rushmore represents an iconic chapter in U.S. history and it is meant to relate to American spirits and to the determination that these four presidents had at the time when they were in charge of the country. While some people believe that it would be absurd to compare other U.S. presidents to them as a result of their involvement in shaping the country's character, it is only safe to say that Kennedy also played a major role in assisting his home and the world as a whole in experiencing less traumatizing experiences.

Kennedy was the second-youngest president at the time when he was elected and his nature rapidly drew significant attention from people across the country as a consequence of the fact that he seemed to want to get actively involved in making the world a better place. His ability to see matters differently from individuals who preceded him provided him with a serious advantage. Kennedy generally differed from less notable U.S. presidents because he acknowledged that being a U.S. President was much more than a job. It was an opportunity to perform a great deal of acts that would raise public awareness concerning the importance of being a part of the reform process.

In spite of his efforts, Kennedy encountered much resistance during his administration and virtually made it possible for people to understand the problems coming along with being an U.S. President. His adversaries did not appreciate the concept of fair play and decided that silencing him would be the most effective method to experience success in their endeavor. The fact that Kennedy is often associated with false rumors is probably one of the principal reasons for which many fail to understand the importance of his role in U.S. history. His assassination demonstrates that he represented a threat for immoral individuals and that they felt that murder was the only solution to stop him.

Kennedy was impressive especially because of his atypical character as a President. Whereas many presidents before him considered that it was best for them to know their limits and to avoid disturbing powerful individuals, Kennedy believed that it was actually mandatory for him to act on account of his fellow Americans, even with the fact that this would most probably increase the number of his enemies. Although it is difficult to determine whether Kennedy himself wanted to be a hero or not, one is likely to observe that most of the acts that he performed were intended to strengthen his position as the country's savior. Little did he know, however, that there were more powerful forces controlling affairs in the area and that these respective actors were unhesitant about killing whoever stood in their path.

The former president was not successfully brought down at the time of his assassination, considering that his memory lived on and that many individuals in the contemporary society regard him as one of the most important persons in U.S. history. Kennedy's administration saw significant events happening worldwide, considering that he witnessed the construction of the Berlin Wall, the Space Race, and the growing tension as the Cold War made it increasingly difficult for international actors to express confidence concerning other communities.
