The main aim of the paper is to highlight the change management strategy that is to be adopted in the billing and purchasing department of the organization. With a great diversity in the employees, change implementation is more of a challenge. Removing cash books and ledgers from the desks of the departments and replacing them with rather more efficient and fast software is the change. Challenges that are to be faced by the employees in accepting a rather technological change and challenges that are to be faced by the change management of the department are the most important aspects.

Introduction

A number of challenges are being faced by the modern day organizations in the wake of challenges that are posed by globalization. Globalization requires that the organizations are not only diverse in relation to the workforce but the methods of conducting many operations in the organization must be up-to-date. Thereby the organizations these days are trying their best to remain up-to-date based on the challenges consistently being faced (Cameron, and Green, 2009, p. 89). This paper will highlight some of the main challenges that are being faced by the accounts and finance department of my organization. Some of the main methods that usually take place within the mentioned department include purchases and invoices. However, these days since many years the methods used for these operations are still the old one. On a number of occasions, it has been noticed that these methods cause a great confusion and great errors in the billing procedures (Creswell, 2002, p. 34). Hence, there is a need that the procedures are changed. Newer methods are adopted by the help of which finance-based procedures can be handled in a better and must more efficient manner. One of the main changes that are to be introduced in this case is the new software. This software is a reflection of the many advanced technologies being used by a number of organizations for better purchasing and invoicing. The new software will make sure that the billing and purchasing methods are accurate thereby there are no errors in the finance-based procedures that were leading to many errors in the past. One of the main advantages that can be highlighted in the case of this new software is that the time that it would require for the finance-based procedure is much lesser as compared to the older techniques being used in the organizational setup. On the other hand based on the efficiency count of the software, the employees working with the purchasing and billing will be able to learn more. Thereby the importance of the new software can be realized here by the fact that new skills can be gained by the employees who have been working since many years in the methods that require case registers and that the organization can gain many financial advantages (Hiatt, and Creasey, 2003, p. 29).

Goals of the Change Management Plan

There are three main goals of the changes that are required within the billing and purchasing department in the organization;

1. To make sure that finances including billing and purchasing are the activities that are error proof.

2. To make sure that newer and much more advanced methods are used within the billing and purchasing department so that faster and skilled handling of the tasks can be seen;

3. The third important change that is being anticipated with the implementation of the software in billing and purchasing department of the organization is in relation to the acceptance in the employers of changes within the workplace. From here, it is important that the employees are more aware of the fact that changes are for the long-term good of the organization hence for the benefits of the organization (Paton, Paton, and McCalman, 2008, p. 30).
