Economic entities can be influenced by the area they are located in, with the entities positioned in the vicinity of economic blocks like NAFTA or the European Union being advantaged and thus more likely to engage in trade. People in North America and those in Western Europe are advantaged because of their position, meaning that the trade business they get involved in is normally more intense in comparison to the trade performed by economic entities that reside further away from economic blocks. Security has always been a crucial matter when it came to freight transportation. However, this topic has not been given special attention until the 9/11 events, which marked the beginning of great changes in transportation policies. It previously seemed perfectly normal to check freights for illegal substances, undocumented immigrants, and piracy. Even with that, the World Trade Center events brought forward a new set of security concerns. The general public is presented with an ethical...

While freight transportation has been one of the main reasons for which globalization exists, people have to devise methods of effectively checking flights, concomitantly with trying to interfere as little as possible with the schedule cargoes have. In order to pass through border checks, freights have to be inspected manually, which means that a lot of time is consumed in the performance and freight transportation is delayed. Congestion is thus one of the main difficulties having arisen along with the 9/11 events, making freight transport less profitable and hindering with globalization as a whole.
Question 4:

Freight transport emits large quantities of pollutants, particularly in the areas where it is concentrated. Large terminals perfectly exemplify this condition, as the intense freight transport that takes place there is responsible for producing large amounts of air contaminants. The effect freight transport has on air can be felt both locally and globally, considering that the community living next to a terminal is affected by the pollutants emitted through transport while the whole planet is affected because transportation releases greenhouse gasses, which directly harm the global climate and make it possible for powerful ultraviolet radiation to reach earth's surface.

Air pollution contributes to polluting the hydrosphere, as certain pollutants go from an airborne state into a solute state and then interact with water. Acid rains come in contact with lakes, rivers, or seas, and increase the level of acidity in these waters. Water is severely affected by transportation through a series of occurrences, such as residue release by marine vessels.
