Change is an inevitable aspect within the society. It is imperative to embrace positive change and shun that which is deemed negative and disparaging. Every individual has a role to play within the community. However, such change has created a sense of disconnect and lack of engagement amongst individuals within the community. For instance, despite the positive change instigated by technology and the internet, it has created increased online engagement but a false one at that owing to increased lack of actual engagement. In the same way, change has created a lack of understanding on sustainability and the role that persons in the society play in it. The key argument made by this essay is that the opinions of people regarding community and their place in the world change when they begin to grow their own food.The perspective of an individual concerning the community together with the role that they play in the world will completely change the minute they begin to grow their own food. This is an imperative aspect for the reason that individuals growing their own food generates positive change. Imperatively, such perspectives and commitment to the community does not emanate out of nowhere. Rather, it stems from and is directed by ideals, ideologies, and suppositions that spiral from our upbringings and philosophies, from our understandings, and from our cognizant decisions regarding what is fitting and right. In the present, there is an overruling and prevailing sense of turmoil that is perceptible to any individual that takes time to take note. Human beings as a species have come to notice the level of disconnection owing to the various aspects such as worldwide damages of biodiversity and of the various destructive ways.
