Homeopathy for acute conditions is mainly focused on the symptoms being presented at that particular time. For chronic conditions homeopathy focuses on a larger set of symptoms and the characteristics of the person experiencing the symptoms. An acute condition is defined as a condition that comes on quickly and lasts for a short duration not more than several weeks. Acute conditions can be traced back to a situation. Chronic conditions are conditions that have persisted for long periods mostly throughout a person's life.

The symptoms might be less severe than those of an acute condition, but they seriously affect an individual's quality of life. Acute conditions can be easily treated with homeopathy without the intervention of a professional homeopathic. This is because the condition is well known and it is easily established when it begun and what caused the condition (Haidvogl et al., 2007). The symptoms of an acute condition are well defined, and they follow a path as they appear suddenly, get stronger, and then get weaker until they stop.

Therefore, an individual can pick a remedy from a health food store and all they need to do is read the indications. In the case of chronic conditions, one should always seek advice from an individual who understands homeopathy before self-medicating. This is because the symptoms are not definite and one might not know when the condition begun or what caused the condition. There are many factors that could trigger a chronic condition. Therefore, to treat the condition, different factors have to be considered.

Someone trained in homeopathy would be best suited to analyze the symptoms and determine the best course of treatment. If a chronic condition is treated acutely, the symptoms might disappear temporarily, but if they reappear, the previously used remedy will not work, and a deeper acting remedy would be required. An acute remedy would be best suited when the individual is able to pinpoint the exact situations leading to them suffering from the condition.

The acute remedy is chosen when the symptoms presented are well defined, and the individual knows when and what lead to them getting the symptoms. An acute remedy is prescribed based on the symptoms presented, and one does not need to analyze the condition too much. The symptoms presented are clear, and there is no mental concomitant. A constitutional remedy is prescribed when the health problem occurs repeatedly (Spence, Thompson, & Barron, 2005).

Though it can be difficult to determine if a condition is chronic or acute, one should be able to check their symptoms and progression of the condition to establish if it's chronic or acute. The symptoms presented and the description offered by the individual would determine if its acute or chronic. Constitutional remedies are only prescribed for chronic conditions. A constitutional remedy is fitted to the person's overall health condition.

The constitutional remedy would be effective in healing the acute condition, and there would be a long-term beneficial effect that would cure the chronic condition. Some of the acute conditions that are treated using homeopathy are toothaches, ear infection, food poisoning, accidents, influenza, sore throats, and the common cold. Some of these acute conditions might resolve themselves, but if left untreated they.
