Letter of Recommendation

To Whom it May Concern:

My name is Amin Jamali. I am originally from the country of Iran, but was lucky enough to come to the United States in 2002. I am writing you this letter in the hope that you will look upon me in a favorable way as a potential student for your school.

It has been my dearest wish since coming to the United States to go to college. As a student whose first language is Farsi, I hope you can understand what a challenge studying in a second language has been for me. I have worked hard in all my classes and strived to do my best in every subject. Even though I was a full time student, I also had to work full time in order to support myself and pay for my education. Besides my full time work in a restaurant, I also do Web design in my part time, not only because it interests me but because I feel the skills were helpful for me in my chosen profession. There were many times when I felt there was almost too much for me to do, but I had a specific goal in mind and I kept at it. I have been working towards getting a degree in Computer Science. I feel that I have a natural talent in this field, and hope to work in the field after graduation. I think my natural skills and strong desire to work will make me a good candidate for employment after education is complete.

As far as the personal side of my life, I am a very dedicated worker. All the time I was working and going to school, I was able to use the logic and management skills I learned in my previous classes and I was eventually promoted to manager at my position at the restaurant after only a few months of working there. I also understand the unique opportunity I have been given in attending school here, and I think I bring a unique perspective as a student from another country studying in a second language. I know that I can do well in school, but also may be able help others who may be having problems or difficulties, such as I have experienced. I feel I can bring the benefits of my experience, my work ethic, and my talent to others who are attending classes with me.
