¶ … Project Management program at George Washington University is the next step in my career development. My career path has been structured to this point with project management in mind.
The focus on statistics and mathematical modeling at GWU meshes well with the way I approach project management. I value both qualitative and quantitative approaches in management and feel that the most logical step for me right now is to develop my expertise in quantitative techniques.
My educational experience has built to this point. I began with a B.BA from King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah. I started masters work in Saudi Arabia before transferring to the Global Business Leadership program at Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Island. My focus is shifting towards a long-term career in project management. To this end, I feel that George Washington University is the best place for me.
In addition to my solid academic credentials, I bring significant experience to the program. I have worked in project management previous with the French-Saudi Bank. In my role as Team Leader for Marketing and Customer Service, I took the opportunity to gain valuable project management experience. On one project, I spearheaded the implementation strategy for a new set of regulations. For my work on this project my company gave me a certificate of achievement in honor of my contribution.
A spent three years in the banking industry in total. In addition to my work with French-Saudi Bank, I also worked as an account manager for over a year with American Express. Both of my banking roles provided me with extensive international experience, working with foreign or joint-owned companies. This resulted in cross-cultural experience and learning. I was able to bring these skills with me to Johnson & Wales, where I not only became more immersed in American business culture but was able to provide a unique counterpoint in class discussions.
I have demonstrated through both my academic and professional careers that I have a strong work ethic and innate managerial talent. I have earned consistently high grades throughout my academic life. I have consistently met objectives and won the praise of my superiors during my time in the banking industry. I am persistent and precise in my approach to planning, and have demonstrated the leadership abilities to make those plans work. I feel that my combination of hard work, leadership, vision, execution and experience will make me an asset to the project management program at George Washington University.
