¶ … letter is intended to serve as a college recommendation. As a teacher at the Diocesan Boys' Secondary School in Hong Kong, I have known this highly deserving student for five years.
During his tenure at the Diocesan Boys' School, this student excelled academically. His predicted GCE A level grades are as follows: Further Pure Maths - A, Pure Maths - A, Chemistry - A, Physics - A, and Chinese - A. He will take his IELTS (International English Language Teaching System) test shortly, and I predict that his score on this test will be outstanding.
In addition to his excellent grades, he shows considerable academic potential and is fluent in English. His abilities to think independently and present coherent arguments will be especially useful in his desired course of studies in economics.
While this student is clearly gifted academically, he has also demonstrated that he has a diverse and healthy variety of extracurricular interests. As a student, he was Head of House, and acted as the Chairman of the Dance Club. In addition, he participated enthusiastically in the school's basketball team and choir, and volunteered with Queen Elizabeth's Hospital in his spare time. He also showed considerable personal initiative by co-founding a T-shirt company during his fifth form, and co-founding an advertising company, named The Five Seconds, in his sixth form.
This student's character and personality, as demonstrated by his extracurricular activities and academic success, will ensure his future success in economics. He is motivated, intelligent, and exceptionally well-suited to pursuing study in this specific field. I am deeply impressed by this student and recommend him unhesitatingly, as I am certain that he will excel in his studies with UCAS.
