I am pleased to recommend Mark for employment. As co-manager of Mark at BAM, I had the great pleasure of having him as an intern. He has served as our go-to Head of Risk Management (as well as quantitative researcher) at BAM Asset Management—an independent investment management company in charge of € 1.2bn AUM that offers investment solutions to institutional investors. As Head of Risk Management, Mark has been tasked with focusing his group on capital preservation and the generation of risk-adjusted returns on a sustainable basis.

In my estimation, as an intern at BAM, Mark has performed considerably well. I could not have asked for a better intern and worker than Mark. Mark is very well-qualified to succeed in this field of finance. Harvard educated, he has studied substantially on various topics—such as Theory of Probability, Statistics for Applications, Stochastic Calculus, Econometrics, Math Topics for Finance, and Analysis. At the Lycée Louis-le-Grand in Paris, France, he studied in mathematics, physics and engineering.

His background is deep and he is very knowledgeable and articulates well with regard to a number of areas that have helped us all here at BAM to better do our jobs and act in the best interest of the company and its clients. As an IT Developer and Researcher, Mark helped to introduce new trading strategies at the fund, streamline operations, and optimize SQL codes. He was instrumental in developing new risk-on, risk-off strategies, and researched and developed strategies for selling options and futures.

Through all his endeavors, Mark was focused, cordial, responsive, engaging, communicative, upright, accountable, approachable, and always positive. He never wavered in his leadership or showed signs of negativity. I was continually impressed with his upbeat and positive demeanor, which I found to be very infectious among all our colleagues. We all responded well to Mark’s devotion to achieving the goals of the fund. Mark’s relationship to others on the team was highly favorable. He was friendly, collaborative, and always willing to take initiative.

He never shirked his duties or treated his team members unfairly. He always demonstrated equity and fairness in all his dealings with his team members and was always willing to listen to questions and concerns while at the same time showing a great capacity for keeping the team on track and engaged with the objective at hand. I highly recommend Mark. Aside from his workplace ability, he has shown himself to be personally praiseworthy.

He has been a mentor for several of the team members here at BAM in terms of representing how a person in this field should conduct himself. An individual should aim to be irreproachable, honest, and intelligent, and Mark has clearly dedicated himself to continuing his education.
