¶ … Accident Theories US Jets remains committed firmly to safety-first policy that includes compliance with all pertinent regulations. As the primary aviation regulatory body in the United States, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) controls air traffic and maintains nationwide safety standards. In fact, California codes of regulations are drafted, issued, and enforced in conjunction with the FAA (California Code of Regulations, n.d.). Therefore, complying with the FAA will consistently be the number one concern of our company when it comes to the design and manufacture of mid-sized private jets.

Incident and accident theory

As extensions of human factors theory, incident and accident theory introduces additional elements such as ergonomic traps, which are related to management failure, as well as the conscious or unconscious personal errors that can lead to accidents (Cleveland State University Work Zone Safety and Efficiency Transportation Center, n.d.). Likewise, Heinrich's domino theory suggests that accidents do not happen as isolated incidents but as part of a causal chain of events. Safety professionals can use incident and accident and domino theories to predict, regulate, recognize, control, and mitigate hazards.

Incident and accident theory

Incident and accident theory builds on human factors theory,...

Errors are traced to human beings, showing how managerial or personal oversight or carelessness are primary concerns. Even mechanical errors can be attributed to a failure to maintain or check equipment. Design flaws are a product of poor checks and balances within the research and development department. Because of its comprehensive and multifaceted approach, incident and accident theory offers a cogent approach to current concerns with the U.S. Jets health and safety compliance.
Justification of my selection

Incident and accident theory, combined with domino theory, encourages us to examine every level of the supply chain, as we are responsible for the quality of materials coming to us from manufacturers. Any lapse in quality control at this stage would be viewed as a human error and a management error. Once materials have been cleared, all procedural health and safety regulations need to be followed. Mistakes are made when workers fail to comply with health and safety standards, such as by not wearing protective gear or being overworked and careless when operating equipment. Likewise, carelessness, failure to monitor equipment, or failure to monitor personnel can lead to defects in the manufacturing process. Similarly, a lack of controls in the design department could cause serious design flaws…
