HS2: National Boost or Overzealous
When it comes to massively altering the transportational infrastructure of a city, it's important to examine all proposed changes with a fine-toothed comb. Luckily, this is exactly what has transpired in the case of HS2, the high speed rail proposed for Britain. As the authors of "Better than HS2" have pointed out, the very suggestion of a new high speed rail line in Great Britain has initiated a fierce and bitter controversy. This is not only expected, but necessary. Strong levels of controversy are crucial in helping to shed light on the various aspects connected to such an issue.

One must also decide how much a customer is worth – not a purchase. If the item is disposable, for instance, and the customer will likely purchase 6 per year at $50, then each customer is generally worth $300 in sales. If your AdWords average per client is $20/new client, this is a good investment; but if it costs $200/customer, then it will take a long time to recoup the investment.

Management involves numerous studies, theories, tests and applications. Some useful theories are Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, the McGregor XY Theory test, Hofstede's cultural assessments, Tuckman's four stages of forming, storming, norming Group Stages, and the 7 dimensions of corporate culture. Using these and other tools, we discover that Southwest Airlines, Inc. and the Coca-Cola Company use widely different tactics and dimensions, yet both are leaders in their industries. Clearly, knowledgeably applying different tactics and dimensions can be highly successful.
