Big Black Good Man is a story by Richard Wright which was published in 1958, three years before his death. The story is a part of Eight Men which is a collection of stories. It has themes of alienation, fear and suspense which is fiction of Wright. This story is well known in all parts of the world and is also included in The Art of the Tale: An International Anthology of Short Stories which is shortened by Daniel Halpern in 1987.

Obesity means more than just being overweight. It should not be taken for granted because it is a medical condition in which the extra fat of the body accumulates at different sites and causes negative effects on the health of the person (Haslam and James, 2005). This leads to various health problems and thus reduces the quality of life and expectancy. When the body mass index, commonly referred to as BMI in medical terms, of a person becomes greater than 30 kg/m2, he or she is labeled as obese (WHO, 2009).

From the time the man first walked on the globe, they have divided and segregated themselves into different and diverse categories of cultures, religions, race and ethnicity. Therefore, it can be well sated that the humans belong to diverse and different civilizations and cultures that give them a unique social and cultural identification and distinguish them from others in terms of background, ways of thinking, norms, rituals, values and so forth. Viewing this aspect, the thesis statement is "Even though both the religions Christianity and Buddhism are conceived by mankind, yet they are very different and diverse religions from one another due to their origins, belief systems, and even rituals."

The paper includes background information about the situations leading up to the passage of the Civil Rights Act, including the counterculture and Black Power movements. In addition, the paper talks about how the Title VII provisions remain important and where we stand today.

This paper identifies and discusses five emerging ethical issues for business organizations in the twenty-first century. The forces of globalization have increased the degree to which diverse groups in society have grown dependent on one another. Hence, their expectations influence the freedoms and responsibilities of other groups. The expectations of various stakeholders have placed greater responsibilities on business organizations to be ethical in their communication with their stakeholders. Business organizations are under growing pressure to be ethical in their employment practices and in the sourcing of raw materials and labour for their operations. In addition, they are expected to recognize their responsibility towards the economic and social development of the communities where they operate and those that they influence through their operations. Hence, business organizations are also responsible to act ethically in relation to their use of the resources of the environment and to the extent that they influence it in adverse ways, such as by polluting it.

The case involve M, a 35-year old mother with three children from two fathers. He most recent boyfriend, the father of the youngest child, has beaten her twice, been arrested and jailed, but is about to be released. Despite a restraining order, Melissa is terrified. Her economic situation is dire – she lives at an inexpensive motel, works part-time for under the table wages, and relies on WIC services. Most recently, her 12-year old son was arrested for shoplifting and suspended from school for fighting.

With increased competition being witnessed in many industries, Multinational companies are setting shop to new foreign markets as a way of increasing their profitability and remaining competitive. Many countries have liberalized their markets, and present advancement in technologies has made it easy for companies to open new branches in foreign markets. However, this also comes with it challenges, particularly relating to cross-cultural communication.

The ethical and legal consequences of testing employees without their knowledge or consent puts Danville Airlines into a defensive position, having to both explain to David Reiger why they are not letting him fly, and potentially to his attorneys how the testing took place at all. The issue of genetics testing raises ethical and legal conflicts, creating a paradox for companies who practice this type of screening (Howard, Richardson, Thorpe, 2009). Danville Airlines has been negligent in their process of medical screening, allowing samples taken from Reiger to be sent to a genetics screening lab (Darden, 2004). Especially detrimental to Reiger is the emotional trauma and pain of being diagnosed with Huntington's disease, the same disease which took his father's life as well (Darden, 2004). Danville is now in the paradoxical situation of having told people outside the company of Reiger's condition, also informing Reiger he will no longer be allowed to fly for the airline, in addition to still not taking steps to fix the several lack of compliance and oversight in its Human Resources Department (Darden, 2004). Even if the screening was technically legal and the attorneys for Danville successfully argue that the genetic testing results are binding, it still doesn't excuse the company from violating Reiger's rights as defined by the 1990 Americans With Disabilities Act (Avitabile, Jappelli, Padula, 2011). It also doesn't excuse the fact that this data, so detrimental to his ability to earn a living, is now out in public with those outside the company, as the case suggests (Darden, 2004). By allowing this to happen, Danville is now in violation of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996. The intent of this paper is to analyze the case and provide a series of recommendations on how Danville can mitigate the losses from their negligence.

Social clause refers to standards which contractors observe in order to cater for public contracts. They usually must be respected to avoid downward pressure on income and working standards. This is usually viewed to bring division between the rich (also referred to as the global north) and the poor (referred to as the global south). The difference between the north and the south has led to a competition that seems to be bringing the north down to the same level with the global south also called the ‘race to the bottom'. I believe that the ‘race to the bottom' is happening and modern trends such as globalization and liberalization continue to catalyze the process. This paper will look at the ‘race to the bottom' theory and how it is gradually unfolding in present times.
